PFA Official Statement - March 13 2009
It is with regret that the PFA announces that it has parted company with Deputy Chief Executive Mick McGuire. The reason for this decision will remain private, and we wish him well for the future. Mick McGuire was one of three Deputy Chief Executives and his departure leaves John Bramhall and Bobby Barnes as joint deputies.

Mick McGuire dismissed after allegations of bullying The Professional Footballers' Association has revealed former deputy chief executive Mick McGuire was dismissed following allegations of bullying. By Charles Carrick Last Updated: 7:38PM GMT 18 Mar 2009 McGuire left the players' union last week amid reports of a breakdown in relations with chief executive Gordon Taylor. However, the organisation has moved to clarify the circumstances surrounding his departure. In a statement, Taylor said: "On Wednesday March 11 after serious allegations of bullying, which I found to be substantiated, I regrettably had no alternative but to summarily dismiss Mick McGuire for gross professional misconduct. "As a trade union the PFA, and I as its chief executive officer, cannot condone bullying, nor allow it to continue."
