I can't say I'm overjoyed about this, given some of the mediocre if effective football Liverpool have been serving up for the last few years. According to the BBC: news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/7951817.stmIt's interesting that he's only now getting control of their transfer policy. I think it's a good thing for them, but it's worth noting that despite his achievements and experience he wasn't given full control over purchases, even though there's no official director of football in Liverpool. Although arguably he's just trying to distance himself from failed purchases such as Keane. Should be interesting to see how good the players he brings in will be in comparasion to what he has.
