Bolton have lasted 10 seasons


Out of 19 seasons , if Blackpool go down 12 Teams have gone straight down and 7 survived the first year.

37% of chance of staying up in the first season!

Average position of Play off team in the first year is 16th Place.

Out of the last 8 seasons only West Ham and Hull stayed up more than one year, if Blackpool are relegated.The stats show its going to be tough for Swansea or Reading.

Out of 19 seasons , Average 3.9 seasons or 4 seasons say.

Out of 19 seasons , 7 teams went down in there first season.
similar number to runner-ups

QPR have 63% chance of staying up for first season.

Newcastle had the best run as Championship winners , had a 16 season run.
Fulham have been there 10 years since winning the Championship followed by 9 years Man City.

This is encouraging , only 3 times in the last 12 seasons has the team winning the championship come straight down , so over the last 12 seasons 75% chance of staying there for more than one season.

Average position for Championship winning team finishing in the Prem is 14th place , same as teams being runners up.

I'M not working that out , just on principle.
That issues finished but we still havnt heard who owns us.

Agree 14-17th - anywhere in that mix and we achieve our first goal.

And of course i like the Stat only 3 times in the last 12 years Champ winner goes straight down !

This is my favourite only once in the last 5 years has the championship winners gone straight down , yet if Blackpool go down only once in the last 5 years has the playoff winner stayed up and that was Hull who finished 4th from bottom and second year went down.

Or perhaps the key to the answer is: Will there be worse teams in the premier league next season and who are they?

Bumped this one .
Average team position over 19 years =14th place for a promoted team retuning to the Prem , so we above average at the minute .
Anywhere between 17th and 14th would be pure bliss this year , especially where we were
through the Summer .
And of course with that Stat of only 9 of the 12 last Championship winners staying up , on paper we have a 75 % chance .

Swansea though face the facts that only twice out the last 8 years has the play off team stayed up !


I think if we can , its a big if , get those 3 points at the Weekend it sets it up nicely for Chelsea.
