De Canio loses his first game in charge of Lece Setanta Palermo are still in the race for a Uefa Cup spot following a 5-2 win over Lecce as former QPR boss Luigi De Canio endured a poor start to his new role. Palermo were ahead on 11 minutes when Edison Cavani won and converted a penalty and, although Simone Tiribocchi volleyed home an equaliser shortly afterwards, the home side went back in front just seconds later through Fabio Simplicio. Tiribocchi levelled again with a fine individual effort on 34 minutes, but Fabrizio Miccoli scored his first career goal four minutes before the break to put Palermo back ahead. Highly-rated defender Simon Kjaer then made it 4-2 with a cross that ended up in the net before Cavani rounded off the scoring on the hour. www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Football/2009/03/15/Serie-A-round-up/gnid-44523/
