www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2348227,00.html KING KENNY Posted on: Sun 01 May 2011 Paddy Kenny reigned supreme at the R's Player of the Year event in London tonight (Sunday). The Rangers number one scooped the prestigious Players' Player of the Year accolade, as well as winning the Supporters' Player of the Year crown at the star-studded West London event. The awards double capped a quite remarkable maiden season in W12 for the former Sheffield United keeper, who was also named in the PFA's Championship Team of the Year last month. npower Championship Player of the Year Adel Taarabt clinched the Kiyan Prince Goal of the Season award for his stunning solo goal against Swansea City on Boxing Day. Meanwhile, midfield general Shaun Derry featured prominently, finishing second runner-up in the Supporters' Player of the Year behind Taarabt and overall winner Kenny. Young prospect Bruno Andrade was named Daphne Biggs Supporters' Young Player of the Year, whilst elsewhere, R's fan Ian Stenning scooped the Supporter of the Year accolade and R's defender Peter Ramage won the QPR Community Award for his outstanding commitment to community projects throughout the campaign. Congratulations to Kenny who has been great this season. Some great saves and have definitely earned us points. But I'm surprised it didn't go to Adel. WIth 19 goals and 14 assists. He has been responsible for nearly half of the 70 goals we have scored this season. His contribution to the success of our season has been immense and on that I don't think anyone in the team has equalled him. Not only that when he been allowed to play until the end of games he has done great work at times in holding the ball up in the opposing half when we were protecting a lead. I know this point isn't as concrete as the other points I've raised but I think it was the Bristol city game when at 2-1 up he was taken off. There was no one who could hold the ball up and they scored a last minute equaliser. An even better example is when protecting the 1-0 lead against Watford yesterday. Warnock admitted he was thinking of taking him off. He left him on and we held on and scored another goal. Also he missed 4 games(Inc cup games) this season and we lost 3 of them. In addition to all that some of his skills this season has been worth the admission price alone.
I suppose that's the price he pays for some of his sulks and strops.
However this season I think there should have been a special award for the manager. Neil Warnock has been a class act and deserves recognition for what he has done for us.

Past POTY Dinners saw Gianni get that Fan "Award" and I think it was the POTY where Gianni was touting the about-to-be announced signing of Hundred goal Alberti. [Update: Both 'events' at the 2008 POTY Dinner - Photos of that dinner taken at the time by Nico De Marco on his website - www.pbase.com/nickdemarco/qpr_player_of_the_year_party_2008]

FANTASTIC Justice has been served re Paddy Kenny; Player Of The Year by a country mile. & wouldn have been a travesty not to have seen that officially recognised.
