3 Years ago...BumpAs Posted at the timeYes it's the Sun.... The Sun Guilty By SHAUN CUSTIS QPR'S automatic promotion into the Premier League is set to be blocked by the FA. SunSport understands the runaway Championship leaders are likely to face a big points deduction - possibly up to 15 - if they are found guilty of breaking strict third-party ownership rules over the signing of Alejandro Faurlin. The evidence against the West London club is said to be damning and they could now end up in the play-offs. The only winners would be Cardiff and Norwich who could then go up automatically. The hearing into the signing of the Argentine midfielder two years ago begins next Tuesday and a verdict will be delivered three days later. A four-man panel will comprise an independent QC, two from the FA's disciplinary panel and a football expert who will be either a former player or boss. In theory, they should begin with a blank sheet of paper but many at the FA are openly discussing the case and reckon QPR - five points clear at the top of the table - are in big trouble. Those who have seen the evidence say Rangers are defending the indefensible. An FA source said: "There's no question QPR have broken the rules. They know it as well. The only debate is what to do about it. "If they aren't found guilty you might as well scrap the rules about third-party owners." Some within the corridors of power believe QPR should be hit hard because they were well aware they were acting outside the regulations. When West Ham were punished over the Carlos Tevez affair they were actually found guilty of failure to disclose information - not of breaking third-party ownership rules because such legislation did not exist. Since then the FA have made third-party ownership illegal so the argument is QPR were worse offenders because they were well aware they were committing an offence. If Neil Warnock's side are found guilty they will have seven days to appeal. However, if QPR take legal action or other clubs decide to seek legal avenues because of points they lost when Faurlin played against them, the whole issue could drag on throughout the summer. The nightmare scenario could even be that the Championship promotion play-offs do not take place at all until the issue is resolved. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3553711/The-FA-are-set-to-strip-QPR-of-promotion-to-the-Premier-League.html

Well this whole affair has soured my joy at our "success" this season. Put yourself in the place of out rivals: what if they were accused of this type of cheating would we not then be strongly arguing for a severe penalty(especially if they had a higher points total than us)? From the sound of this Sun article there may be some substance in the prediction of what are penalty will be as make no mistake we will be found guilty and ought to have pleaded guilty a long time ago. Lets be honest there are some very corrupt and dishonest people who are responsible for the mess we are in but the ones who will suffer are not them. Indeed I go so far as to say the denial of all the charges hence delaying the case has made the situation much worse.

The Sun has about as much credibility as the News of the World. I've dropped turds with more substance than the Sun editor has had in their entire career.

Whatever way this goes the whole situation has soured what has been a fantastic season and will really be a kick in the nuts for the fans, manager and players. Mr Paladini should be dismissed straight away. If we are found guilty and are deducted then where will that leave us as a club. Any feel good factor we have would be gone, surely the Mittals or even Bernie would have known about this

Its so difficult keeping up with all these stories from the press and opinions on various message boards at the moment I sometimes wish I would stop reading them as one day all looks good and the next day we looked doomed
The Sun story above does make worrying reading though but as a glass half full kind of guy I will keep faith and everything crossed until the verdict comes out
By the way I am sure I read the independent panel hearing the case consisted of three members only and not four as the Sun has stated

What a decision to make..... a] Drink the bottle celebrating a promotion and no or little punishment. b] Jam it up Paladini's arse if we are denied said promotion and spoils our season because of his yet again bungling - thinks of the Smith Loan/transfer F*** up as well. c] Jam it up everyone elses arse that has been bagging us when plainly, their respective team/s were not in the same class. d] Jam it up the FA's & FL's arse because said offence should have been dealt with last September if indeed an offence was committed.

Enoughs, enough. As if i,m feeling enough pressure willing the team, to secure the final points so as to be crowned RIGHTFUL CHAMPIONS, I have to read the crap reports like printed in the sun, and spiteful comments from varius boards. Therefore until I hear and peruse the official decision, this Board and this Board alone will be my only viewing.

Less than two weeks ago Custis was reporting no points deduction as a fact.
Therefore it's usual Sun bollox, nothing new in the article, just the same specualtion.
Why bother with this nonsense when they could have massive spreads berating Mourinho?

No where in that piece did the supposed 'FA source' say points deduction, they just say we have broken the rules which could mean a fine. Its only the Sun's sh*tstirrers who say point deduction

Funny that Ecclestone has told Murdoch that he has zero chance of taking over F1 and the Sun runs this story the next day, don't you think?
Like I said, every other paper is on about el clasico and mourinho and the sun runs this story with custis contradicting himself. I wonder how much input to the story attributed to him that custis actually had.

Surly if this is BS by the sun, then they hopefully have left themselfs open to be sue'd by the club.
Attempting to undermine our promotion just before a vital match by printing damaging crap that could effect our players.

Now that could be a course of action and a complaint to the FA, especially as the Sun are allegedly claiming they have a source within the FA.

The Wales on line take on it ! QPR could be deducted 15 points - reports Chris Wathan Apr 29 2011 CARDIFF and Swansea City's bid for the Premier League could yet be thrown into chaos after reports claimed Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers WILL be deducted points. Both Cardiff and Swansea head into their final two fixtures still with a chance of automatic promotion. But, with QPR set to face a disciplinary hearing over the Alejandro Faurlin transfer controversy next week, the goalposts could yet be moved at the last minute with one London newspaper reporting that "damning evidence" will cost Neil Warnock's side as much as 15 points. QPR are currently clear at the top of the Championship, needing just one point from their last two games to secure top-flight football. But, according to The Sun, the R's could yet find themselves in the play-offs if they are found guilty of the charges on third-party ownership or use of unlicensed agents made against them - meaning the Bluebirds and the Swans could still secure a dream Welsh one-two at the top of English football's second tier. A four-panel will convene next week - including two members from the FA's disciplinary panel and chaired by an independent QC - with a result expected on Friday, less than 24 hours before the clubs kick-off the final-day fixtures on May 7. However, the whole race for the Premier League could still be thrown into chaos if QPR are found guilty and docked points with legal challenges almost inevitable. Hoops boss Neil Warnock recently claimed he was quietly confident that the Loftus Road club would escape any punishment after discussions with the club's legal representative, although admitted he could not be 100% certain that his bid for a third top-flight promotion would be hit by next week's hearing. He said: "I’ve spoken to the people at the club about what was happening but I wanted to speak to someone outside the club myself so I spoke to the barrister involved. I had 20 minutes on the phone with him, he went through everything with me and I was very happy with what was said. "I don’t want to worry what the papers write because tabloids never let facts get in the way of a good story, and with my connections with the Sheffield United and Tevez story, certain journalists can’t wait to try and get something there. I said to the players not take notice of the tabloids and to wait until the hearing and I’m quietly confident having spoken to the legal people. That’s how we’ve left it. "I would celebrate as soon as we get over the line - and it can’t come soon enough for me. I can’t say 100% because there are hearings, but I want to do my job and if we get over the line that’s job done for me and that’s all I’m concentrating on." Currently Cardiff need to better Norwich's results in their final two games - starting with Monday's visit of Middlesbrough - if they are to join QPR in the automatic promotion places, while Swansea's slim hope of a top two finish relies on both Norwich and Cardiff losing their remaining games while securing maximum points against Millwall and Sheffield United. That could change dramatically if a points deduction comes into play. Both sides are assured of play-off place.
