Back to the Tabloids...!
The Sun QPR TARGET ... Darren Ferguson DARREN FERGUSON is back at the top of Queens Park Rangers’ wanted list.
The Peterborough boss was overlooked in favour of Paulo Sousa after Rangers sacked Iain Dowie in October.
But Portuguese boss Sousa is close to the axe himself having managed just five wins in 22 games.
Ferguson will have Bristol City chief Gary Johnson as a rival for the Loftus Road hotseat.
A source revealed: “Ferguson has twice been overlooked for more experienced men.
“This time around he is a real contender — but Johnson is another the board like.”

Imagine the scene...
Briatore and Paladini were were with (Alex) Ferguson last week - as was noted, (I think by Pete and Scott)... "Hey think your son would like to manage QPR?"
The Johnson one would make sense, maybe: If you had a Chairman willing to back a manager; wasnt just looking for glamour; was prepared to get out of the way, give him time to build, etc, etc: Not things that we've seen thus far.
Obviously none of know if Sousa IS the right guy to manage QPR. But some of the flaws, now being pointed on the boards: He's never been a manager; he doesn't know the championship; - were there before he was appointed.
To expect a team to be built instantly "Well look at all the good players: How come he hasn't got them winning" is ridiculous.

Where are all these stories coming from? Just made up by the press? Or someone...

What about a third message line. the Tabloid and highly speculative Qpr report. We could put the Holloways Inces Fergusons and all other genuine rubbish predictions and have votes whether to eradicate it or not.

Why the club vehement denial over Ince but not over Ferguson et al reports?

Mike I think its the glamour & association with a big club, maybe Paladini's thinking that if he looks after Fergies son he's going to get some top players come his way on the cheap.
