Some years ago I met a girl who swore blind that her Uncle played for the Rangers. Now, this lady would be about 40 / 42, so her Uncle would probably have been around in the 60's. Only thing I remember about her claim was that he was a Greek Cypriot. Maybe he was with the club in some capacity, but I have no recollection of anyone from that part of the world appearing for the first team. Wotchafink?

Obviously I am not Bushman, but your answer may be Seth Vafiadis, whom I believe was an English born Greek Cypriot.
I saw him playing in the mid 60's for Guildford City who were then one of the top non league teams.

Seth made 15 appearances scoring 4 goals in the 63-64 season before moving on to Millwall also played for Guilford City & Hillingdon Borough. He went onto work in the family Barber's business run by his father, it was called Johnny's on the East Acton Savoy Circus. Seth went to Sir Christopher Wren School. Hillingdon Borough 1970-71 Back row left to right: Bill Sperrin (Assistant Manager), Vic Batt, Dickie Moore (Captain) Mick Lowe, Tony Newcombe, Tom Higginson, Jim Langley (Manager), Nobby Clarke (Physiotherapist). Front row: Mick Fairchild, Bill Carter, Johnny Bishop, Eddie Reeve, Seth Vafiadis, Tommy Knox and Trevor Watson. Seth Vafiadis front row 3rd from right. A certain Mr Jim Langley is the player-manager.

Ta gents...and of course his place of birth would be what threw me. When she mentioned him being Cypriot I stupidly presumed he was born in Cyprus.

Yet another interesting historical fact about our club and former players, it just gets better and better.
