Carlisle Utd: Harry Arter joins on loan, Borrowdale set to leave Friday, 04 March 2011 "... Meanwhile, Gary Borrowdale looks likely to leave Carlisle after Abbott declared his faith in stand-in left-back Matty Robson.Abbott is set to speak to QPR loanee Borrowdale about his future as he nears the end of a month-long spell in which he has made just two appearances. Borrowdale’s loan runs out next week and Abbott said winger Robson’s performances in the back four have made it impossible to leave him out. “I thought Matty was outstanding at Charlton on Tuesday,” said Abbott. “He hasn’t done much wrong in that position. “Gary will be disappointed not to be playing because that is what he wants to do. “He came here to play football and if he is not doing that then it will be a problem for him. I will have to speak to him about that and see where things go.” ... www.newsandstar.co.uk/carlisle-united/latest/carlisle-utd-harry-arter-joins-on-loan-borrowdale-set-to-leave-1.814759?referrerPath=/news-star-sport-latest-1.49999

I presume it's happening today (or not happening today) or has already happened! He went on a month's loan a month ago. It is a little strange, because while he may not have been a great QPR signing/great QPR player, he was an established player at Championship level. Flashback! QPR Official Site a month ago:
BORROWDALE JOINS CARLISLE Posted on: Tue 08 Feb 2011R's left back Gary Borrowdale has joined Carlisle United on loan. The 25 year-old defender, who has made just three appearances in all competitions this season, has penned a one month loan deal with the League One Club. Borrowdale is likely to make his league debut for the Cumbrians against Southampton on Saturday. CARLISLE OFFICIAL SITE - FEB 8 UNITED CAPTURE LOAN RANGERPosted on: Tue 08 Feb 2011 Queen's Park Rangers left back Gary Borrowdale has signed a one-month loan deal with Carlisle United this morning that will keep him at Brunton Park until 8 March 2011. Borrowdale, 25, started his career with Crystal Palace where he made over 100 appearances before moving to Coventry for a £650,000 fee in July 2007. He played 26 games for the Sky Blues and enjoyed loan spells at Colchester and QPR before making the move to Loftus Road a permanent one in January 2009. Whilst with the Rangers he has been out to Brighton, and he most recently had a 12-game loan spell with Charlton Athletic at the end of last season. Manager Greg Abbott said: "With the injury to Joe Dudgeon we wanted to bring someone in to provide competition for places in that area, and Gary fits the bill. "He is a player who needs football and he jumped at the chance of coming here, and we think he's a good one to add to the mix. "He is experienced and he's ready to go, and we are looking forward to working with him." Borrowdale is available for tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final second leg against Huddersfield Town, if selected. He will wear squad number 16. www.carlisleunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10361~2287119,00.html CARLISLE OFFICIAL SITE - FEB 8
I JUST WANT TO PLAY GAMESPosted on: Tue 08 Feb 2011 New boy Gary Borrowdale spoke to us shortly after completing his loan move from Championship side QPR to tell us how the move came about. He said: "I only found out about the chance of a move here on Sunday but once I did it was all sorted within half an hour. "I'm at a stage in my career where I just want to play games, so I saw the move as a good opportunity for me to do just that as chances are a bit limited for me at QPR currently. "QPR are doing brilliantly this season but for me it's a bit frustrating watching from the sidelines. Every player just wants to be out there playing football but at the moment I can't really argue with the manager's team selections as he's got the club right up there at the top of the Championship. "One of the guys down there knows the manager here and he told me it would be a good move. He said the club likes to play football and that I'll get treated well, and my first impressions are that is definitely the case. "I know that my first game could potentially be a massive one but I'm ready for that. When I looked up some of the results the first leg of the JPT area final was the one that stood out. It's a great lead to have going into the second leg but we've got to be wary that Huddersfield are a strong side and will be having a right good go to try and get back in the tie. "I'm probably a more defensive full-back but when I get the chance I like to try and get forward and give support down the wing. I've noticed the club has one of the best defensive records in the division and hopefully I can help keep that up while I'm here."
