Thought that would get people to look so that someone could scurry off and say hey "he's anti-QPR/wanting QPR to lose" Obviously that's just hyperbole. I don't ever want QPR to lose. But there is a clear danger that there will be fan "feel good" period with Ainsworth - and after we beat Birmingham tomorrow - that this will be increased. And that Briatore will seize advantage of that good feeling to install Ainsworth as his man. - And why is that a problem? Because based on what has been shown in football management for the past half-century, it's a massive, massive rarity for someone to make the bounce from player to top class manager without experience in between. An initial bounce does not a good manager make. And I remember the euphoria with the Waddock appointment; and the Wilkins appointment; and even the Trevor Francis appointment and on and on. Rule of thumb: Neophyte managers cast into the deep end usually don't make it. And I don't want QPR to be the play thing or the experimental tool of our Chairman. And an Ainsworth appointment would be a clear signal of the "hands on" intentions of our Chairman. Now some seem not to mind that. "It's his club." But I do.

If we are winning, who cares. And if we are not winning, then he will soon get his marching orders.

Agreed Report but frankly if the right candidate isn't available out there and this is to be a lost season then I'd rather have Ainsworth appointed until the end of the season as a caretaker (with perhaps a consultant coach to support him e.g. Francis or Venables) and start again in May

This will be the topical debate - whether we as QPR fans support Flavio Briatore. Personally I think he should be given a little while longer before he is vilified.
He has a successful track record within the entertainment industry - always remember football is an entertainment and certainly more entertaining than F1 in my view, and i'm sure he does not want QPR to be a failure.
His business acumen seems to be sound in that he is making QPR self sufficient, and hopefully profit making.
His methods may not be to everyones tastes, but why can't he have a say in how the club is run?, some things will work well, some won't.
Many posters on MB's were willing to give Mr Dowie at least a season to see how he performs - we haven't even given Flavio a year yet ( i say this as the January transfer window was the first time the new owners could get going) - personally I would give him and his regime until the end of this season, and then there will be an opportunity to moan (or maybe Flavio will have an opportunity to gloat)
I know this sounds corny, but WE HAVE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD it's a shame some don't believe it

Even had we lost, Ains would still be in charge. We dont know which way our team is going. for all our sakes it must be upward and forward. The pace of it, the mechanics of it will obviously have its peaks and valleys. But Adminman youve got to admit its bloody exciting.
