El-Hadji Diouf is the subject of an internal investigation at Blackburn Rovers after the forward allegedly taunted the injured QPR player Jamie Mackie in last weekend's FA Cup match at Ewood Park.
The 30-year-old Senegalese attracted widespread condemnation for verbal abuse aimed at Mackie, who was lying prostrate with a double leg fracture following an accidental collision with Diouf's team-mate Gaël Givet. Diouf is alleged to have stood over Mackie and shouted "F*** you and F*** your leg".
While the Football Association has already begun its investigation into the matter, Blackburn have resolved to launch an inquiry of their own, led by senior club officials including the manager, Steve Kean.
Kean said: "We are trying to investigate absolutely everything and we are speaking with the players who were on the pitch with El-Hadji. Hopefully whatever comes out will be the full story and we will act on that."

Blackburn manager Steve Kean vows to investigate El Hadji Diouf's alleged comments against QPR's Jamie MackieBy Chris Wheeler

Blackburn manager Steve Kean has launched an internal investigation into claims that El Hadji Diouf taunted QPR striker Jamie Mackie as he lay on the ground with a broken leg.
Diouf’s behaviour infuriated the QPR players after Mackie fractured his right leg in two places during Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Ewood Park.
And the controversial Senegal forward was involved in angry altercations with Bradley Orr, Rob Hulse and Shaun Derry as tempers boiled over at the final whistle.
Mouthy: The QPR players insist that Blackburn forward El Hadji Diouf taunted their players following Jamie Mackie's leg break
Kean, who yesterday confirmed John Jensen as his new assistant, admits it is proving hard to establish what was said out on the pitch, but has warned that Diouf faces a punishment if he is found to have acted inappropriately.
Kean said: ‘At the time when he was on the ground nobody knew he had a broken leg.
'Hopefully whatever comes out will be the full story.’
Incident: The Senegalese striker points towards injured Mackie - caretaker manager Steve Kean has vowed to investigate what he said
QPR boss Neil Warnock also took action over the controversy yesterday, clamping down on his players using Twitter after they wrote threatening messages aimed at Diouf.
Mackie criticised the Blackburn player in a tweet and Orr, Clint Hill and Paddy Kenny all warned Diouf that he would pay for his actions.
But Warnock, who had branded him ‘a sewer rat’, fears his players could land themselves in trouble and has ordered them not to write anything related to the club on Twitter in future.
He said: ‘We don’t want charges of our own. I’ve had a word with the lads about this, and they can use Twitter all they want as long as it has nothing to do with the club.’
Goalkeeper Kenny appeared to have closed down his Twitter account last night.
