I really do think that our next appointment will be a 'Coach' - it's getting a little frustrating reading about our potential new manager - when it is almost certainly going to be a continental style coach.
It seems many posters on boards seem to think that this is a really bad scenario, but it is the continental way, teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan etc etc operate in this way, and have achieved success, why must we hold onto the way in which we have always done things - it hasn't bought us much success for years.
Like it or not, we are experiencing a revolution at QPR, and believe it or not, our owners want the best for us by making a success of our club, and also wanting to make it a self sufficient business, and then a profit making business - OK they may not go about certain aspects to the liking of all fans (see price rises), but it's their millions they have invested, and why would they not want to first balance the books - just because we have never had a regime like this before, it does not make it a bad thing.
And they will make mistakes when selecting players for the coach - even experienced managers like Alex Ferguson makes mistakes buying players for his team - Veron, Forlan, Djemba Djemba, the list does go on - so why must we have a 'manager'?

The bottom line is what will end up mattering -- if we have success under a new type of management structure, then people will quickly come around. If not, then people will inevitably point the accusing finger at the new structure. However, you are certainly right that things haven't worked that well so far. I've been devoted to QPR for three decades and in that time all we've managed is a (old) 2nd division title and runners-up medals in the FA Cup, League Cup and (old) Division 1.

And like I said on another thread - I think we should give Flavio and his regime to at least the end of this season to evaluate whether the new owners have been a success.
The question there is what would constitute 'a success' for this season?

What is success for this season? Well, it would definitely be a successful season if we went up of even if we ended up in the playoffs. That much is definite. After that, its a matter of judgment.
I'd say that it'd probably be considered a successful season if we were in contention for the playoffs right up to the end of the season. The new management have repeatedly stressed that we are gonna be patient and build our team into a contender. Therefore, there must be some level of success that stops short of actual promotion.

I would totally agree, to go up automatically would be over achieving, to get into the play-offs would be a very successful season.
The problem with being in contention for the play-offs, is that there will be quite a few clubs in contention, and i'm not sure that will enough to stop people moaning/wanting Flavio's head on a platter
