I only just clocked that he's Asian, well part Asian. A colleague just said to me about the possibility of Chopra coming in and commented that would go down well with us trying to reach out to India.
Isn't it strange that, still, despite the wonderful multi-cultural society that we live in that there's hardly any Indian or Pakistani players in the leagues (let alone the Premier League)?

Socio-economic and cultural issues really....(beware sweeping statement) Asian place a greater importance on academic education and culturally still have an affinity to cricket (look at the England cricket team (Bopara, Nasser Hussain, Owaih Shah etc). Also though a lot of football is played by young Asians its still seen as a poor career choice (which it is).
