Nottingham Forest Official SiteQPR Preview Thu 11 Nov 2010 Nottingham Forest will on Saturday attempt to become the first team to beat Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. Neil Warnock's men are unbeaten in 16 and sit top of the table as they prepare to make the trip to The City Ground (kick-off 3pm). But with his side unbeaten in 27 games in the league at home, Forest boss Billy Davies is confident his team can knock Rangers out of their stride. Forest recorded their third successive home win on Tuesday when they came from behind to beat Coventry. QPR were held to a 1-1 draw by Portsmouth at Fratton Park in their midweek game. Team news: Kelvin Wilson remains Forest's only injury concern as he's still nursing the back injury that has forced him to miss two games. Billy Davies must decide whether to recall club captain Paul McKenna after he was relegated to the bench for the visit of Coventry. Davies made that decision after McKenna missed training on Monday due a family issue but the experienced midfielder is back in full training and pushing for a return. Dexter Blackstock, who was also on the bench on Tuesday, is also eyeing-up a return against his former club. Rangers will be with suspended defensive duo Bradley Orr and Matt Connolly, as well as Akos Buzsaky (knee operation), Peter Ramage and Lee Cook (both knee injuries). They are also likely to be without Heidar Helguson, who has been sidelined recently by a shoulder problem. Form guide: Forest Watford (A) D 1-1 Portsmouth (A) L 1-2 Ipswich (H) W 2-0 Middlesbrough (H) W 1-0 Barnsley (A) L 1-3 QPR Portsmouth (A) D 1-1 Reading (H) W 3-1 Burnley (H) D 1-1 Bristol City (A) D 1-1 Swansea (A) D 0-0 Past meetings: Remarkably, QPR have never won at The City Ground - in 28 league and cup attempts. And few Rangers fans will have forgotten the drubbing Forest handed out to their side when they visited Nottingham last season. The Reds ran out 5-0, with three of the goals coming in the first half. Robert Earnshaw set Billy Davies' men on their way with two goals in the space of just three minutes. And when Dexter Blackstock made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after 32 minutes it was effectively game over. Chris Cohen added to Rangers' misery early in the second when he made it 4-0 and James Perch rounded off the scoring 12 minutes from time. That represented Forest's 25th all-time league and cup win over Rangers, who have beaten The Reds on 14 occasions. Seventeen games between the two sides have finished the deadlock, including last season's meeting at Loftus Road, which finished 1-1. Connections: David Needham might not always have been a first choice selection at The City Ground but he made a valuable contribution to Nottingham Forest's European Cup-winning era. He was bought from Queens Park Rangers in December 1977 for £140,000 to fill a supporting role to the formidable partnership of Larry Lloyd and Kenny Burns. And Needham did that very effectively in a Forest career that saw him make 118 appearances and score 13 - often vital - goals. Needham started his career with Notts County and came through their ranks to become a leading figure at Meadow Lane in a powerful central defensive partnership with Brian Stubbs. He made 429 league appearances for the Magpies before joining Rangers for £90,000 and the Londoners made a quick-fire profit on the Leicester-born defender inside just six months. www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~2216298,00.html

Fulham Chronicle Kaspars Gorkss out to make history with QPR Nov 12 2010 By Paul Warburton KASPARS Gorkss reckons there is a double incentive to get QPR’s first win at Nottingham Forest tomorrow. Rangers have never had a return from this away day in 26 attempts, and Gorkss is also primed and ready to use his back catalogue against Forest striker Dexter Blackstock who left Loftus Road in March, 2009. The Rs defender said: "I know all Dex’s little tricks from one-and-a-half seasons with him at Rangers. So sure, I plan to make it a priority to keep him quiet if I come up against him. "Sometimes, a little extra incentive is helpful if when you’re chasing a win – and the fact we could be the first QPR team to win at Forest seems a pretty good one to me." www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-sport/london-qpr/2010/11/12/kaspars-gorkss-out-to-make-history-with-qpr-82029-27643499/

Nottingham Evening Post
Nottingham Forest v QPR match preview panel Injured: Kelvin Wilson Team news: Defender Kelvin Wilson remains the only injury doubt and is unlikely to be involved as he continues to struggle with a back problem. Skipper Paul McKenna is available again, however, after missing training earlier in the week with a family problem, leading him to being only on the bench against Coventry. Manager Billy Davies has hinted he may rotate his squad following the hard-working display against the Sky Blues. Line-up (from): Camp, Gunter, Morgan, Chambers, Bertrand, Tyson, Cohen, McKenna, Moussi, Majewski, McGugan, Earnshaw, Blackstock, Darlow, Lynch, Anderson, McCleary, Adebola, McGoldrick. Team news: Defender Matt Connolly will sit out a suspension after being sent off in the 1-1 draw at Portsmouth on Tuesday evening. But the Hoops line-up is likely to include former Forest and Notts County midfielder Shaun Derry, whose defensive-minded presence in midfield allows Adel Taarabt to have an attacking influence. Line-up (from): Kenny, Hill, Gorkss, Walker, Derry. Clarke, Taarabt, Borrowdale, Faurlin, Mackie, Smith, Hulse, Agyemang, Ephraim, Rowlands, Cerny, Andrade, German, Orr, Parker, Ramage, Rose. Danger man: Jamie Mackie The 25-year-old striker has come into his own since signing for QPR from Plymouth. Never a prolific scorer with the struggling Pilgrims, the Scotland international has already netted eight goals in 16 starts with Rangers. He has not scored in his last 11 appearances for club and country, but will be a player Forest will want to keep a careful eye on. One to watch: Adel Taarabt The Moroccan midfielder has been in outstanding form since signing on a permanent basis from Spurs, following two successful loan spells at Loftus Road. Taarabt is the player that makes Rangers tick, with his probing, tricky runs and clever passing. Has also scored six goals. www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/forest/Nottingham-Forest-v-QPR-match-preview-panel/article-2881165-detail/article.html

Forest boss Davies: Let's send out a message to rest of the divisionBILLY Davies today challenged Nottingham Forest to send out a message by beating two of the Championship's big boys in their next two matches. The Reds face unbeaten QPR at the City Ground on Saturday, before travelling to face Welsh form side Cardiff City the following weekend. The two sides have already established themselves as the favourites for promotion to the Premier League. But Davies believes Forest can prove a point – in their own dressing room and to their rivals – by producing their best football over seven crucial days. "We will have played the top sides in the division by the time this run comes to an end next weekend," said Davies, whose side moved to within a point of the play-off places with a 2-1 win over Coventry City on Tuesday night. "But if we want success, we have to face up to sides like this. We have to prove we can play and compete at this level, against anyone we face. "We have to send out a message, to ourselves and everyone else. We have to be able to compete with these big boys. "As I said before, QPR are one of the big boys now in this division and they will play with confidence." Davies believes Neil Warnock's Hoops will provide a different challenge to the one posed by the Sky Blues in midweek. But he insists his side will be ready to give the London side a stern test themselves. "It is a good test, a great test in fact. It doesn't matter whether they are top or second," said Davies. "It will be a different type of test for us again. It will be a real tough challenge. "But we will be ready for them." www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/forest/Forest-boss-Davies-Let-s-send-message-rest-division/article-2871387-detail/article.html

Captain's Wait Fri 12 Nov 2010 Paul McKenna is waiting to discover whether he will reach a career milestone against the Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers. The Nottingham Forest skipper is just one game away from chalking up his 500th start in first team football. But having been relegated to the bench for the midweek win over Coventry, the 33 year old midfielder is facing an anxious wait to discover whether or not he will be handed a recall for tomorrow's City Ground clash (kick-off 3pm). McKenna was only named as a substitute on Tuesday after he had missed the previous day's training due to a family issue. Boss Billy Davies told us: "Paul is fit and available and it's nice to have the club captain back. "That will certainly give us a selection headache for Saturday but we'll have a look at training and make a decision." Forest will again be without Kelvin Wilson, who is still carrying a back injury, but have no other injury concerns www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~2216745,00.html Nottingham Forest Official Site - QPR Preview Thu 11 Nov 2010 Nottingham Forest will on Saturday attempt to become the first team to beat Queens Park Rangers in the Championship. QPR Official Site DERRY RELISHING FOREST RETURN Posted on: Fri 12 Nov 2010 R's midfielder Shaun Derry is relishing a return to former Club Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. In an exclusive interview with the Forest matchday programme, Derry - who made eight appearances for Forest during a loan spell in the 2004/05 season - said: "I absolutely loved it at Forest - it reignited my enthusiasm and passion for the game when I came to The City Ground. "I was in the middle of a bad time in my first spell at Palace but when I joined Forest I loved every game I played and every minute of training. It was a great place to be and I hold very fond memories. "I'll have a lot of family and friends who still support Forest in the crowd. "I will no doubt have been getting text messages from them in the run-up to the game hoping our unbeaten run is going to come to an end. "For me personally, its extra special playing in Nottingham … it really is." *You can read more of Derry's exclusive thoughts in tomorrow's matchday programme, available in and around The City Ground for £3. www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2217126,00.html

Looks like Trees may be right and we get our first loss. Yrag starts at LB and Hill to central. Iceland is still injured.
Our defence could see the return of the cream cheese, look despite Kaspars confidence.

Will Blackstock be talking about how he departed QPR? And will his version be the same as the Agent/Briatore Version immediately after the Sousa axing?

Derry plans to cut down Forest with Rangers
Shaun Derry has thanked Forest for putting passion back in his game – but he wants to make history against them today.
The 32-year-old midfielder was not enjoying his football six years ago but a loan spell at the City Ground got him back on track.
Moves to Leeds and back to Crystal Palace followed and now he is chasing promotion with Championship table-toppers QPR.
Neil Warnock’s men are unbeaten in the league this season and Derry is gearing up for banter from his old pals when he returns.
He will be reminded that QPR have never won at Forest’s ground – a run that stretches back 28 games in all competitions. “I absolutely loved it at Forest. Coming here reignited my enthusiasm and passion for the game,” Derry said.
“I was in the middle of a bad time in my first spell at Palace but when I joined Forest I loved every game I played and every minute of training.
“It was a great place to be and I hold very fond memories.
“I’ll have a lot of family and friends who still support Forest in the crowd.
“I will be getting text messages from them in the run-up to the game hoping our unbeaten run is going to come to an end.
“For me, personally, its extra-special playing in Nottingham.”
Kaspars Gorkss says his team-mates are determined to become the first QPR team to win away to Forest.
The centre-back will also remember the 5-0 thrashing they were handed in the fixture last season.
“Sometimes, a little extra incentive is helpful when you’re chasing a win,” he said.
“And the fact we could be the first QPR team to win at Forest seems a pretty good one to me.”
Keeping ex-Hoops striker Dexter Blackstock quiet will be a vital task if they want to break their duck.
“I know all Dex’s little tricks from one-and-a-half seasons with him at Rangers,” Gorkss added.
“So sure, I plan to make it a priority to keep him quiet if I come up against him.”
Boss Billy Davies has to choose whether to recall Paul McKenna and hand the skipper his 500th start in first-team football.
“Paul is fit and available and it’s nice to have the club captain back,” Davies said. “That will certainly give us a selection headache.”
