Of course recall, the source. Portsmouth are considering offloading striker David Nugent to Bolton in January. (News of the World) BBC Gossip. Edit: But if you scroll down this thread, see Scott reaffirms Chopra (as he did a few days ago, on the deleted thread on WATRB which I originally linked to qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=140&page=1. Chopra would be nice (depending on cost).

I think we should forget about Nugent. Premiership wages for a player yet to prove himself in the premiership does not make sense to me. We are QPR and as such we should be looking at younger players in the lower leagues. My first choice would be Fabian Delph whose at Leeds. I'm not sure about the fans who are saying that unless we buy a 'quality, proven' striker at this level, the board are not showing enough intent. To buy a young player and make him a top player whilst at QPR shows more intent for the future and also is our way of doing things. One of the best things about QPR was we used to buy players you probably hadn't heard of and then turn them into great players: Ferdinand, McDonald, Parker etc. That is QPR. That is what we do. Forget about a quick fix. Forget about the owners money, it's not ours, the fans, to spend. Get me another Stainrod, another Bannister, not another Hateley or Sheron.

So 100% agree with you. Maybe it's the demand for instant impact (as if a Premiership "flop" is guaranteed success). Or maybe our scouting system is dependent on agents and "known" players and they're not able or willing to look down.

I don't see that any striker of proven quality will join us until we are in the premier division. I partly agree with Mark that there has got to be someone of worth in the lower divisions failing that there must be some good young strikers at the top clubs that never get a chance and would like to play on loan just to get a first team game. I'm not sure what scouting system we have if any in place but they don't appear to have done too much to earn their corn over the last few seasons.
