Histon boss David Livermore has admitted he is already eyeing an FA Cup glamour tie ahead of their trip to Havant and Waterlooville on Saturday.
The Stutes famously beat Leeds in the second round two years ago.
Livermore told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Financially it's very important, as we could get enough money to see us through the season.
"We want to make the next round and pull one of the big boys, the likes of Southampton or Sheffield Wednesday."
Histon claimed a 1-0 win over Leeds United at the Glass World in the second round of the competition in 2008.
However, the side is much changed since that famous win with many of the squad never having previously played in an FA Cup match.
"It's every boys dream to play in the FA Cup," said Livermore who played for Millwall against Manchester United in the 2004 final.
"Saturday will be the first time about three quarters of our squad have been involved in the competition"
The Stutes came close to going out of business over the summer, but have developed a sustainable business plan under new chairman Russell Hands.
