Hmmmmm yes. Bit of an odd one this. I can completely understand a re-vamp with regards to the "glazier" element of the logo, a building that burnt down nigh on 100 yrs ago. For me, and ever since I was a kid, the ugly looking mast that is Crystal Palace (aerial lol) has always been the symbol. Or of course the dinosaurs in the park itself lol Would hate the tower or mast to be in there..... removing the eagle does NOT come into the equation for me. Difficult one, but Steve Parish has good design ppl around him so we shall see. Personally, for me and to coin a phrase, "if it ain't broke, don't thow it away."

Look on the bright side you could end up with a badge/logo like ours.........

If they want something that the locals can relate to, then maybe they should have a picture of someone getting stabbed outside Morleys Fried Chicken in Thornton Heath.

Can't they replace the Palace bit of the design so that the Eagle sits atop the Whitgift Centre?

Just as they were always known as "The Glaziers" before Malcolm Allison changed their name in the 1970s.
I remember it well. He changed their name, changed the width of the pitch and after being preseason favourites for promotion from the 2nd Division, they languished near the foot of the table with the oldest joke in football (Q. What's the difference between Palace and a triangle? A. A triangle has 3 points.)
For a very long time Palace had only 2 points. Finally Malcolm Allison decided that changing the size of the pitch worked in favour of their opponents and changed it back again. They got relegated and only when Terry Venables came along as assistant and helped with the Team of the 80's did things change. Palace got to the Semi Final of the FA Cup (same year as QPR finished 2nd in the 1st Division) and finally got out of the 3rd Division.
