Its great reading these memories from those who were there years ago.
I was just wondering are there any photos of the Loftus Road ground from the 1940's and Park Royal and White city? I have been a fan since 1987 so only know the modern stadium. I have been watching old YouTube clips of Loftus Road before 1980 when it was all terraces at either end. It really had character.

Some great old photos there. Every picture encapsulates that period of time. I loved how the ground looked in the 70's. It had real character.

IN THIS DAYS TERMS = 78PTS FOR WINS + 9PTS FOR DRAWS 87 PTS FOR 42 GAMES - PRO RATA THIS FOR 46 = 95.28 PTS FOR THE SEASON !
THE SEASON WAS A BRILLIANT START BUT IN THE END LOST 7 GAMES

Looked back further than 1920 and could not see a better start than 1947! 14 games , 10 wins , 2 draws , 2 defeats equals the record ! 2 wins from the next 4 games equals it , 2 wins and a draw from the next 4 could be the best start in the history of our club ! Hard to find some of the earlier years dates , sites only show cup games !

The record I WANT broken is most points in a season! QPR Official Site Record Broken... NEW CLUB RECORD! Posted on: Sat 23 Oct 2010 QPR set a new Club record tonight (Friday), as they made it 13 matches unbeaten with a 1-1 draw at Bristol City, surpassing their previous sequence at the start of the season of 12, which was set in 1947/48. This campaign's run of results of eight wins and five draws, sees the R's occupy top spot in the npower Championship table, and following the game, boss Neil Warnock admitted that he was pleased for the players to make history for the Club. "It's good for the Club, and for the players to be a part of it," he said. "The lads will always remember being a part of this achievement. "I hope we can continue our unbeaten run for as long as possible. To go 13 games unbeaten is no mean feat. They deserve a lot of credit." The stats... 2010/11 WWWDWWWWDWDDD - first 13 unbeaten (so far!) 1947/48: WWWWWDWWWWDWL - first 12 unbeaten www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2193777,00.html

Well we broke the record! Albeit we had a few more draws in our run ! Still a great effort , wouldnt it be cool to keep in going to 15 games with 2 home fixtures coming up ! 3d for a programme wonder what that would equate to in terms of money this day for a programme ?

Fascinating read, great thread , this is the QPR MB for the thinking man! Also the record is great, but slightly worried with the recent form. But I'll bet Warnock sorts it out in time for Saturday! COYRs

Well i hope we can go 14 games unbeaten but its going to tough ! Good Luck R,s
It wasnt until i read this clip below about when we got promoted we stayed up for 4 years in Division 2 then were relegated again ! We stayed in that division until Alec Stocks second year when he got us back up there !
QPR finished top of the Division 3 South pile in the 1947-48 season, but after spending four seasons in the Second Division, dropped back down to Division Three South in 1952. In the build-up to the 1959-60 season, QPR installed Alec Stock as manager, argued by many QPR fans as the club's greatest ever manager. His second season saw QPR's biggest win in their history, a 9-2 annihilation of Tranmere Rovers in a Division 3 match. They kicked on and duly bounced back to the Second Division in 1967, again finishing top of Division Three.
Arguably their finest 90 minutes came on Saturday March 4th 1967, when they came from 2-0 down to beat West Bromwich Albion 3-2 in the League Cup Final and became the first Third Division side to win the competition. QPR then earned back to back-to-back promotions in the 1967-98 season and therefore shot up to the top tier of English football for the first time in their history, after ending the season second in Division Two. However, they slumped straight back to the Second Division a year later with a mere 18 points, prompting Alec Stock's resignation in November of 1968, Tommy Docherty took over for a month before Les Allen saw out the campaign.

Well 15 games unbeaten it is 9 wins , 6 draws ! Think we will be very lucky to extend it to 17 games ! We won our 15th ,they won there 15th! we would both be on 24points after 15 games if still 2 points for a win ! Bad omen coming up lost there 16th , won the 17th ! Ithink if we can win one of these 2 away games well on course for the points we need this month ! What an achievement though 15 games unbeaten and today to get a result with 10 men ! This win i think may be our biggest of the season so far ! We have played tougher teams but the timing of this win makes it all the more important ! Great effort guys well played , this winning start may never be repeated in the history of QPR FC !

Loving reading this even though i am only a 'nipper' of 35. Mum and Dad ran a newsagents on Uxbridge Rd 66-69. Actually was 1 Becklow Road. Both rangers through and through. I had to wait until i was 4 for my first game. Dont remember it too well, however i remember the one i was a mascot at. Sadly i'm the slightly camp geeza in the middle, much tougher looking now, honest. Gary & Simon? Happy days, proper '80s. Attachments:
