The Iron are rated as 125/1 to win the npower Championship title next season according to our online betting partners bet365.
They come bottom of the list of clubs expected to win the division, with Crystal Palace and Barnsley (both 66/1) and Preston North End (50/1) also unfancied.
The relegation odds are yet to be released but it is likely Scun.thorpe will be favourites to drop down to League One.
Manager Nigel Adkins and his side thrive as underdogs though and will be out to prove the bookmakers and media wrong yet again next season.
Nottingham Forest, who were knocked out in the semi-finals of the play-offs, are 15/2 favourites to win the league. Middlesbrough, Burnley and QPR (all 9/1) are just behind.
