Impressive Fan (And yes, I KNOW, we all hate Cardiff)Football League CARDIFF FAN DAVID DIES AT 97 Cardiff City are planning a tribute to fan David Morgan, who has died aged 97.
Mr Morgan was a season ticket holder at Ninian Park and witnessed two of the club's FA Cup Final appearances spanning 81 years.Cardiff will honour Mr Morgan, who served as a Royal Artillery Captain in World War 2, in a match-day programme.Mr Morgan was 16 when Cardiff became the first team to take the FA Cup to Wales. City beat Arsenal 1-0 at Wembley in 1927, two years after their first appearance in the Final. The retired bank manager was guest of honour last season for the Bluebirds' semi-final clash with Championship rivals Barnsley. City won 1-0, before losing at Wembley to Portsmouth by the same score. A Cardiff spokesman said: "We were extremely sorry to hear of Mr Morgan's passing. "He was a great character who loved his football and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to meet him.
