FOOTBALL UNITES FOR BANTAMS
Bradford City have been overwhelmed by football's response to the death of three supporters who were killed while travelling back from watching England beat Kazakhstan at Wembley.
The League 2 club have been co-ordinating events to raise money for the families of the three men, who were involved in a car crash on the M1.
City secretary Jon Pollard said: "We have seen the caring face of football. The response from other clubs and supporters has been magnificent."
The men who died were Jonathan Worby, 21, and his brother Tony, 25, and their friend Gareth Rhodes, 23.
They were all Bradford fans and also played football together in local leagues.
Bradford, who held a minute's silence before their game against Gillingham, are now organising a charity auction, and offers of help are flooding in from clubs throughout the country.
Pollard added:"Within a week of contacting clubs, we had received nearly 30 replies sending autographed shirts, balls and pennants.
"And we were promised many more once players returned from international duty and were able to sign items.
"The Football Association also offered us a signed shirt and it was in the post within a couple of days."
England captain John Terry sent a message of condolence and flowers after learning of the accident....
