2010 Season Tickets: Share The Passion
Posted on: Mon 12 Apr 2010
Preston North End have announced their season ticket pricing for the 2010/11 season, including a radical overhaul of matchday pricing, which sees adult season ticket holders getting approximately five games free across all stands and children as many as ten games free in their package!
Season tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 4th May from 9am with current season ticket holders' seats reserved until close of business on Wednesday 30th June.
Season ticket prices see a small increase across the board for the first time in three years and chairman Derek Shaw explains that this increase is a necessity for the Club's efforts to achieve its ambition of a place in the Premier League.
"The support of the fans this season has been fantastic and we are extremely grateful for the support of all our season ticket holders and look forward to welcoming you back again. This season has given us many challenges, but we are already looking forward to making strides in 2010/11 and as always we need your support.
"This summer we will be looking to support the manager in his efforts to build a squad how he wants it to challenge for promotion to the Premier League, meaning we could well be extremely busy during the off season.
"We have slightly increased season ticket prices for the first time since 2007, but importantly with the increase and restructure of matchday prices we still wanted to ensure this gives season ticket holders the same value in terms of the games they get free of charge.
"The revamp of matchday prices allows us to have a number of special offer games during the season without season ticket holders thinking we are devaluing their product.
"We have also looked at the vouchers within the season ticket book to try and make sure there are offers in there that you will use and will save you money on what you spend with the Club.
"Talking finances isn't ideal, but I want to be open and honest about the importance of our season ticket holders' as crucially your support brings in about £2m. This pays our players' wages for about three months of the season. This stark figure makes it clear that we have a big disparity in income to expenditure, but the expectancy from fans - and from the people within the Club as well - is that we should be challenging at the top end of the table and that's why your support is so important.
"That support from the terraces has been excellent again in 2009/10 and in relation to building the atmosphere at Deepdale we have been working with the re-introduced Town End band in recent weeks to find them a permanent place for next season. Indeed Lancashire County Council have agreed to allow us to create a home for them behind the goal and hopefully we can build on the improved atmosphere generated in recent weeks, initiated by the band, to get all our fans behind the team and spur them on to what we hope will be a successful year for Preston North End."
Manager Darren Ferguson was pleased to hear about the work going on to create what some might describe as a 'singing section' and also stressed the importance of getting good numbers of season ticket holders to support his own efforts to get the Club competing for a place in the Premier League.
"I came to the Club with one aim in mind and that is to take it to the Premier League.
"Since I arrived, your support has been fantastic and I am delighted the Club have been working with the fans to create an area to really get everyone going and make some noise because we need Deepdale to be our fortress. We have a good history of a great home record and if we can make it a place teams fear to come, it can be a real platform for success.
"The money that season ticket holders put up is a big chunk of cash each and every year and I hope the team and I can make it money well spent with some entertaining performances and more importantly with plenty of winning displays.
"The Club, the team and I need as many people as possible to buy season tickets; as the more money comes in, the more we can look to improve and strengthen our squad and I hope to see you all in your thousands here with us next season."
"We want to produce a winning side that is passionate about taking PNE to a higher level and I ask the fans, and everyone involved at PNE, to believe in our Club."
Season tickets start from just £75 for juniors (which equates to £3.26 a game), £160 for U21s (£6.96), £240 for over 60s (£10.43) and £365 for adults (£15.87) with supporters again able to spread their payments out with our finance company over six months.
Matchday prices see the introduction of tiered pricing for the first time with one fixture set to be allocated as a 'super special' where it will be £5 for all around the ground and three other 'Cat C' games where the lowest adult price is just a tenner!
There is also the introduction of the new 'singing section' in Block AH of the Alan Kelly Town End. We are building a permanent platform area for the band within this block and supporters can buy in that block to help generate an intimidating atmosphere here at Deepdale - ask at the ticket office from May 4th if you want to relocate to this area.
Current and new season ticket holders can also make it an ease of purchase by doing it all online at www.mypne.com. Current season ticket holders will just be able to log in and see their seat reserved for them and new season ticket buyers will be able to pick from all available seats.
