Just when I had learned to spell his name correctly! TOMMASI LEAVES Posted on: Fri 09 Jan 2009 Damiano Tommasi has had his contract terminated by mutual consent with immediate effect. The 34-year-old midfielder joined the R's in September 2008 on a free transfer following his release from Spanish side Levante at the end of last season. He made seven appearances for QPR in total, including two as a substitute. Tommasi told http://www.qpr.co.uk: "I have enjoyed my time here very much but I understand football, and things change. This is normal. "Now I have the opportunity to look for another team. I want to carry on playing - I'm not sure for how long - but I feel there is more in me to give. "I have the enthusiasm to continue. "I now consider myself to be a QPR fan and I believe the Club is capable of winning promotion. "They have a strong squad, and I don't think we will have to wait too long before we see them playing in the Premier League." The Club would like to place on record its thanks to Damiano for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.

Just guessing that Briatore wanted him cos he was a name. But actual performance not good enough. And not wanted by Sousa.

He is now a QPR-fan A very expensive way to convert people to become fans though! On the other hand, if he really is a fan maybe we can use his contacts to get some really good players to QPR.

I really wanted him to do well for us, shame things didn't work out. Good luck to him.

A rare football philanphropist in a world of greed, but we can't be sentimental..
Like all our Latin Loanees, he flaired briefly, flickered and relapsed
Hope he does well

Echo that first sentence roy. I think he walked coz he wasn't earning his corn.
A rare man indeed in football today.
Ciao bella bon fortuna (sp) Damiano.
