Murray will become a target

Albion boss Gus Poyet is expecting interest from other clubs in Glenn Murray.
The former Rochdale marksman is under contract until the end of next season but Poyet admits Murray’s current form in a winning team is bound to attract attention.
Leeds, Burnley and QPR have all been linked with a possible swoop, although Poyet has played down the speculation.
He said: “When you start winning games you are always in a position where you can lose players.
“People probably didn’t understand when I said in January and February we are not talking about contracts until we are safe. We’re still not safe.
“The risk is losing players, not only those without contracts but the ones with contracts, because of the way you are playing.
“Nobody has contacted me directly or the club. We don’t know if there is or is not someone interested in Glenn, for example.
“We expect someone to be pushing to get Glenn but nobody from Leeds has contacted me. I wouldn’t, on the other hand, be surprised.
“That is normal when you have got a player who is the main striker at the moment and he is scoring goals. That is what everyone wants.”
Murray will be trying to score for the third home game running against Southampton tomorrow night after raising his season’s tally to 14 in 33 games with the opener in last Saturday’s 3-0 victory at home to Tranmere.
Poyet added: “We need to wait and see. There is no rush. I want players to be happy being here.
“If an offer comes in and it is good for the player and the club and the player wants to go I think that is good for everyone. I hope it doesn’t happen but I am sure there will be a few.”
