I think we should sticky this until after the Charity Marathon. I was only going to donate £20 in truth, but I didn't want to look cheap after CPR! ;D Raise that target Blocky - make it £1000 for the time being, you can always push it up if you need to. If you need someone to hold a stop watch and wait at the finish line for you smoking cigs and sitting down in a portable canvas chair whilst sipping coffee from a thermos then I'll see if I am available!

thanks mark, In truth I was happy to raise £100 but I will up it now. your donations are very generous. any amount is appreciated, however I am not normally a 'charity man' myself (this my first sponsored thing I have done) and have max respect for everyone regardless of a donation or no donation, wishing me well will push me on as much as money. thank you everyone.

When is the race Blocko ? I did an absolute shocker 15 miler race through Epping Forest yesterday. its is one local to me, the frinton and walton half marathon, they have a five miler that I would normally do but I thought I would push on to 13 odd miles. Just be out today and my knees are killing, but as I type the pain has gone, just a bit tender I have raised £100 already thanks to you lot, will harass work types monday.

just a progress update....
I got by very fetching 'beat MS' runners vest through the post yesterday, and have my paper sponsorship forms ready for circulation.
I have purchased a new pair of running trainers to cut down the impact on my knees.
I did my first distance run last sunday, I did 11 miles just over two hours and have been doing gym work every other day in the week, I managed to fit in shorter runs of three miles in the week but run it at 80-90% (phew!)
so all is well, not over doing it, want to be fit to race.
another distance run on sunday.
thanks for your support everyone.
keep ya posted.

Good luck Blocky... Still with running, has anyone seen Eddie Izzard Marathon Man? Not really a fan of him, but found that really interesting. Ran 1167 miles over 50 odd days for Sport Relief, and only did 5 weeks training before hand. Gawd I really felt for him at some points in that show.... Don't go getting carried away Blocky

Klr is our resident runner so he would be the one to ask but I would say for your debut it's all about finishing. Then you'll have a time to beat the next time.
