Today on the blog I noted QPR's poor disciplinary record over the past few season. This season we're already up to 30 yellow and2 red cards... qprreport.blogspot.com/2008/10/bad-boys-of-loftus-road.htmlIt's not something to be proud of. But I'm not sure why it's the case. I remember there was a time - as I recall it lasted several years - that we went without having a single player sent off. Obviously refs have changed. But there has to be some reason why we have year after year the poor disciplinary record. And it's obviously not any one manager, coache, or the players (or the Chairmen) to blame- since we consitently keep changing all of them! Maybe it's the players overcompensating for being "Southern softies" - or maybe we can blame...The fans! But it is strange. And number of yellow cards doesn't equate with success.

Suggest multple reasons. We really have been playin "rough " last few years. Refs then note that and look at certain players (plus teams) more closeley and find things.that is they fulfill their expectations. Especially since the referees that we see are inconsistent, will miss calls and then overcompensate. Better refs control game better, take people aside warn them or manager. There also is frustration on team that is never set and changes game to game. Does this reflect in more bad tackles, somewhat chippy. But I see lack of skills as critical especially defensiveley and escaping trouble by fouling. Also losing ball or shoddy flow lends to bump and grind impactive football. Look at last night. We get six yellows and by all accounts one should have been red. And Swans get nothing. This ref is seen to be "easy" but why the disparity? Home teams advantage always there. But my first idea of closeley watched rangers looks critical. Once a fouler always a fouler. Incidentally against Forest there were no cards.
