As posted on WATRB site by a poster Croydon Today Watson faces extended injury lay-off Tuesday, January 06, 2009, 09:40Ben Watson is set for an extended spell on the SE25 sidelines after boss Neil Warnock confirmed the in-demand midfielder will miss at least the next two weeks. Watson has missed Palace's previous four outings with a groin injury - but speaking after the Boxing Day win over Norwich City, Warnock earmarked this Saturday's trip to Plymouth Argyle for the 23-year-old's return. However, talking to the Advertiser, the Yorkshireman has revealed Watson faces at least another fortnight on the treatment table. He said: "Ben won't be fit for this weekend - he will be out for at least another couple of weeks." With Watson reported to be a target for a number of Premier League clubs - including Middlesbrough, Fulham, West Ham and Everton - it is looking increasingly likely that the talented midfielder has played his last game for the Selhurst Park club. Rather than risk Watson aggravating the groin strain, Warnock is unlikely to play the midfielder just in case another injury scuppers any potential exit - and sequentially much need funds. Furthermore, Watson has been omitted from the official club 2009 calendar - another indication that the Eagles academy graduate's future looks certain to be away from Selhurst Park. www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk/latestsport/Watson-faces-extended-injury-lay/article-588635-detail/article.htmltherangersboys.proboards54.com/index.cgi?board=rumours&action=display&thread=18959
