In this week's Stat Attack, we take an in depth look at the highest, lowest and average attendances in The Football League so far this season.
Coca-Cola Championship
There is no surprise that the Coca-Cola Championship's highest average attendance comes from one of the top sides in the league table.
Newcastle United's average gate at St James' Park this season has totalled 42,509 with their top attendance coming in December as 49,644 witnessed Marlon Harewood and Shola Ameobi grab the goals to see off North East rivals Middlesbrough.
The Championship's lowest average attendance comes from Sc*n*horpe United's Glanford Park with a total of 6,489 fans. The highest total for the Iron's came in a 2-1 win over Newcastle earlier in the season and the lowest figure so far was in the game against Coventry City in December when 5,013 turned up to watch a 1-0 win over the Sky Blues.
Coca-Cola League 1
Leeds United have the highest average attendance in Coca-Cola League 1 at 24,970 just 422 more than the second highest average which comes from leaders Norwich City.
The highest attendance of the season came in October, as 31,838 supporters packed into Elland Road to watch the 0-0 draw between Leeds and Charlton Athletic.
The lowest average figure at this level is 3,457 which has been accumulated at Victoria Park, the home of Hartlepool United. The same venue hosted the lowest match gate of the season so far with 2,465 witnessing the Monkey Hangers draw 1-1 with Gillingham.
Coca-Cola League 2
Bradford City's game against Bury last month attracted the most supporters to a game in Coca-Cola League 2 this season with 11,965 fans turning up to see their side lose 1-0 to the Shakers.
The Coral Windows Stadium has the the highest League 2 average attendance with a substantial following of 11,424.
The Darlington Arena has the lowest average attendance in League 2 with a total of 1,895 coming to watch the Quakers. The lowest attendance of the Football League came at Moss Rose with just 1,035 turning up to watch Macclesfield Town take on Northampton in January.
