Aged 56 AP - Former Yugoslavia, Chelsea goalkeeper Petar Borota diesBy Associated Press Saturday, February 13, 2010 LONDON — Former Chelsea and Yugoslavia goalkeeper Petar Borota has died, the Premier League club said Saturday. He was 56.Borota played 114 times for Chelsea after joining the English club from Partizan Belgrade in 1979. He won Chelsea’s player of the year vote in 1981. Borota, who had been living in Genoa, Italy died Friday after a long illness, Chelsea said. "Petar was an unbelievable goalkeeper, very acrobatic and he was the benchmark for the keepers of today because he was one of the first to dribble the ball out," former Chelea teammate Gary Chivers said. "Petar would often be outside the area trying to head or kick the ball, although he wasn’t always good at either of them." www.bostonherald.com/sports/soccer/general/view/20100213former_yugoslavia_chelsea_goalkeeper__petar_borota_dies/
