One game at time. We want Southampton to beat Preston tomorrow and pick up as many injuries as possible. We want Leics to beat or draw with WBA Sat early ko as this will mean WBA will need points against Sheff Weds Sat week. Then we want games to go in our games at 3 PM Sat including Norwich win
Then we get to our game and the real nerves start.

Positives yesterday, not very many. Hudds and Sheff Weds drawing. Preston have to play midweek and if they lose and Norwich win Saturday before our match, might be less focused. Coventry would almost for sure not be able to make play offs with Norwich winning Saturday. Also as Coventry are in the FA cup Saturday, they play Saturday, Tuesday , Saturday, Tuesday Saturday , 5 games in 14 days. All these could go in our favour. With WBA losing yesterday, means when they play Sheff Weds Saturday week, they may still need points if they lose or draw at Leicester Saturday but Leicester are poor lately. Hopefully it all stays tight for the top three until last game when Sheffield Weds play Ipswich.
So this week we want Southampton to beat Preston. One thing we do know is Leeds will be very much up for it as they can still get into top 2 when we play them.
But we need something against Preston , ideally 3 points but minimum one. If we could win we will know that we can’t be in the bottom two after the Leeds match unless we got thumped and Huddersfield caught our goal difference.
And of course if we did win and Sheffield Weds lost at Blackburn, then Sheff Weds could not catch us.

Yes we need Preston to lose away to Southampton Tuesday and Norwich to beat Bristol C, then our game is of less importance to them but we still need to win it.

Ffs Plymouth hadn’t won for weeks and sacked their manager with 6 games to go, now picked up 7 points from 3 games. We didn’t want that result Leicester are crap currently, thank heavens they managed to beat Birmingham but we beat them so did Millwall and now Plymouth

I think by the time we play Preston the worse case scenario is they are 8 pts behind Norwich with three games left so the match will still be very much live to them.

Yeah I’m sure if we win that last night, we would be looking at 1 pt from 12 for safety, think we need one more win now. Not sure where it’s going to come from.

Fantastic set of results tonight. I thought Birmingham would win that.
I thought our four games were tough Blackburns are tough. Leeds and Leicester away plus Cov and Sheff Weds.
Swansea 50 points now, removed , any two from eight
This weekend I think we want Stokes form to get good now, let Stoke win there next two , beat Sheff Weds , then beat Plymouth following week and get clear, then If Plymouth lose to Leicester Saturday could pick up no points from two. I’m turning to a Stoke supporter now.
CRUNCH GAMES BOLD

Don’t blame Begovic, blame the useless forwards that can’t hit a barn door. So many games defenders have get us out the sh1t Dykes and Sinclair not good enough at Championship Level both be better suited to League one. When was the last time this club had a prolific scorer, Charlie Austin I guess. Prior to that Adel.

Swansea winning for me. I have a bad feeling Birmingham will win tonight, Cardiff playing for nothing…. Soooooo hope I am wrong. Still sitting here frustrated we are not 6 points ahead of Sheff W and Hudds with four to play

Reflecting I can’t help feel we should be on 49 pts this morning which would have been 6 points in front of Sheff Weds and Hudds and with a better goal difference That would have meant if we lost all four games they needed two wins and a draw to get us relegated, that would have been such a good position to be in as if we got one win that would have been us safe. Dropping those two points was criminal, I just hope it doesn’t haunt us and after the Preston game we see us in the bottom three with Leeds and Cov to play.

Before those 4 relegation matches I would have taken 7 points but really that feels like 2 points thrown away tonight. With four of the best teams left to play a four point cushion is not enough. With our better goal difference though, one win for us means they have to win 3 out of 4 to overtake us or win two draw two. If we can keep Birmingham in the mix also as they have to play Huddersfield and they both can’t get three points so we really need a birmingham loss or draw tomorrow. Millwall beating Leicester made my night even worse.

I’m not so sure of staying up after that. Tuesday is a huge game, today we just did not want to lose it, same for Tuesday, get a draw minimum We lost again and on paper our four matches are tougher than anyone else and we would be hovering over drop zone.

Typical QPR, chance to get out of it and straight back in it, shocking performance. We could send on five attackers and they wouldn’t score. Sinclair and Dykes are not Championship level forwards. After watching a crap performance like Huddersfield score in 90+5 so make it worse.

I would be over the moon with 4 points from the next 3 games. If we can have 50 after next Saturdays Hull game we will be in a good place. If we beat Sheff Weds today and get that other point by next weekend. Sheff Weds would need to win 4 from 5 games to go above us , that’s if we get zero from Preston,Coventry and Leeds
In their five games they have Norwich, WBA and Blackburn and Sunderland away and a Stoke relegation battle. They won’t get near fifty points if we beat them today. By the time we have played Hull , if we get the win today, chances are only 22nd spot will be the one we are not safe from.
Main thing today is same as Plymouth Tuesday night, just don’t lose them , draws will be ok.

No so fussed with Fox but Cox could definitely do another season or two, he is one of the factors of why this team has turned it around. Sad to lose JCS if we do, we stuck with him while things were bad, will he stick with us and honour loyalties, probably not it tends not to go that way in football.

It is possible that by next Tuesday Sheff Weds will not be able to catch us with 4 games remaining. If we did win our next two games and Sheff Weds failed to beat Norwich on Tuesday. Not getting carried away though, would so be the QPR thing to beat Birmingham and Swansea only to lose to Sheff W and Plymouth and put us right back in the lurch with 4 games to go. But I think in 6 days time we will have a pretty good idea what Division we will starting in August.

I guess we shouldn’t be scared of anyone of our remaining games apart from Leeds as we have lost only two in thirteen now. If we go undefeated in our next two matches that’s basically lost two in a third of the season, from where we was under GA that’s remarkable Coventry just lost at home, Hull are up and down and not in great form, Preston lost to Birmingham , the first team Brum beat in 8 games. For sure two wins will keep us up, maybe less points than that. I think the bottom two will struggle to get 50. I’m still not counting Blackburn getting sucked into this yet. We also have games like Birmingham v Huddersfield where they can’t both pick up points.

Just typical that Plymouth on a shocking run, have Rotherham on the TV Friday night , so if they get a win, finally it will boost their confidence at home to us. We must put another good performance in Saturday

Almost the perfect day apart from Birmingham winning. Their first win in 8 matches, 4 points from 24. Their prize for that win is a trip to Leicester.
Blackburn win today against a rotten Sunderland team but their run in is still the worse by far, Sheff Weds is only their decent game and could yet be brought into this. Millwalls bubble has burst recently, losing at Rotherham will hurt.
