Try and stay calm.

Well done Marti and the boys. Worried if we would get to 30 with Ainsworth , then we got 40 now 50, amazing. I think we are safe if Blackburn win tomorrow.

Dykes work rate was back up there again. He was in the right place to capitalise on the goalie error. Otherwise, he looked as unlikely to score as he has in the last 15 games.
Their goalie gifted it to him. Had it been Begovic who made an error he’d probably have a contract out on his life by now from the less understanding fans. Instead he defied his critics (or more accurately ignored them) to make the crucial saves that secured our safety. That’s the life of a keeper. I hope he gets at least a fraction of credit he deserves for today to offset the cheap mouthing off he has been targeted with recently.

That’s 42 points for Martí from 30 games that’s pretty decent added to Ainsworth 8 pts we have 50. Same as what we had last year after 46 games under Beale Critchley and Ainsworth and this year we have two matches to go. Pretty amazing really.

Really good performance yesterday. Marti certainly got them up for it as we finally played well under pressure at home.
I thought only Andersen was a bit off it, misplacing several passes in first half. Colback, Willock and the back four were superb particularly.
I think criticism on Begovic has been fair. In terms of individual mistakes he has cost us more points than he has won us. When we kept clean sheets it has mostly been through JCS and Cook’s reading of the game and defending the 6 yard box rather than heroics from Begovic. A very good save in first half but it was straight at him and he did not have much else to do for rest of the game. I think issue here is expectations when he arrived, perhaps wrongly in truth. Looking at his career stats, he has played over 400 games in c20 years so about 20 per season which is quite low for a keeper, and bar his time at Stoke and a few more recent seasons at Bournemouth, he seems to have spent more time as a number two. So possibly expectations were too high and why we were able to sign him in the first place.

Great effort to get to 50 - but too early to celebrate, Lose our last 2 and we are in the hands of others but anyone from Stoke down can say the same. So many possible results and no team has been consistent - one mistake or one moment of brilliance will decide the relegation spots.
Blackburn win today will settle the nerves - if not we could be heading for a last day battle of goal difference. We were well placed on that a few games ago but when we win it is by one goal, lose by 3 at Hull while others at the bottom score a few more when they win - eg Stoke yesterday
Just think our injury time implode at Shelf Wed gave a 6 point swing in their favour or we would be happy now.
Never a dull moment but the fat lady has at least made it to the wings and waiting to get on stage.

Who’d be a goalkeeper. Begovic fluff cost us 2 points at Plymouth, yesterday his save and a Preston keeper fluff gave us the 3 points we needed for likely, but not certain survival. Dykes really should have had another when put clean through on goal but of course true to form missed it. Nevertheless less he had a fine game as did most of the team with an outstanding performance by Willock.
Safe? — should know by about 2.30 this afternoon.

I will be watching the Blackburn game with a Lancashire accent. If they win, it's job done*
*Not mathematically, but Sheffield Wednesday's and Huddersfield's goal differences are horrendous.

So possibly expectations were too high and why we were able to sign him in the first place. I was at the game yesterday, and only saw the tv replays this morning. Woodman had a terrible day, not just the goal. I think we also should have had a penalty to settle our nerves. Miller was outstanding with his running and ball control, but it was a terrible miss. Begovic made himself large, but it was straight at him. The after-match interview with Begovic, he said that he has played so little prior to joining but he hopes to play on for another two years, he does not have a contract at QPR as yet, but let us see what happens; we all want to keep the squad together. Marti stating that Willock loves QPR also suggests that some of our out of contract players may sign contracts now. But I fully support Hitman's summary and hope that Begovic is not one of those offered new contracts. Everyone stayed behind at the end, the relief was huge, a great place to be and enjoy.
