Hopefully, the noobs will get plenty of minutes in the 2nd half.
Elsewhere, Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Wed.Is a draw better than a Sheff Wed Win?

We played really well, Blackburn were poor though. If Armstrong had a bit more experience we could have won by more.

we can only influence our own results so don't worry about what Huddersfield do. Great win and Hodge class when he came on. 7 points from last 3 is the form we need to maintain. 7 more wins

Great effort today. Field will be back once he misses one more game , which can only strengthen. Just need to keep our best group fit for final 16 crunch games, Paal may have an injury which is a worry. Try and drag Stoke , Birmingham and Millwall into it.
After such a crap season it would be heaven if somehow we exchange places with Millwall game 46. Any how a good 3 game run, last time we had a good three game run we faded, let’s hope we can get a few more points from us. Stoke away and Rotherham home big February games but really I guess all sixteen are big.
I like Marti’s matches, would be harsh that his team got relegated.

When Hodge came on for Dykes, we saw something that is quite alien to supporters of QPR. He ran on into space ahead of Armstrong to receive a ball. A midfield player, moving forward, making runs. I have always defended Dykes because he does run around, but it is about being effective. I love Field, he was player of the year last year by a country mile. But to say he has gone backwards is a catch all! He always passes backwards! His break up play is sound, but that is why he gets booked so often. Hayden and Hodge were looking forward not back. Now the last 10 minutes or even 20 minutes were tough because we were desperate to hold onto what we had.... but where did that 10 minutes added time come from? We will soon be joining Millwall in singing ' Nobody loves us!'

We will soon be joining Millwall in singing ' Nobody loves us!' Very similar to my own thoughts in that Marti wants forward looking players and players prepared to make those runs. I reached the point where I can see a possibility, when the new signings are fully fit, that we will see Armstrong Dykes and Field on the bench. As good as Field has been we may just have signed a couple who can defend and then play forward and get the nod ahead of Field. At least now we have some selection decisions to make. The defence has tightened a lot even though we still have problems with set pieces but if we can keep Cook and Clarke-Salter fit and playing together we will have one of the strongest CB pairings in the league supplemented by Paal and Cannon. With this new squad we should be in the top half of the table but have so many points to make up after Ainsworth. But get a decent run of half a dozen games and suddenly there will 8 or 10 clubs in the mix at the bottom. The bottom 2 seem doomed but funny things happen. We normally see one of the bottom 3 surge upwards over the last 10 games - lets hope it will be us although I would hope to be out of the bottom 3 by then anyway.
