Actually, just realised there's no Chair. Illness apparently. Hopefully just illness and not that someone has come in for him with a bid we cannot turn down.

Isn’t this so QPR, trailing 1-0 to Milwall, after such a bright preseason. Last couple of seasons we won our opening game so let's hope we can turn this game around and win!

HALF TIME: QPR 1 Millwall 1 Much better performance from QPR to end the half after Dickie had found the net from distance to equalise. Millwall started the game brilliantly but have faded since going ahead through Jed Wallace. Mark Warburton will feel this game is there to be won. 07/08/2021 3:47 pm Ball has a go with his left foot from outside the box but it drifts harmlessly wide. 07/08/2021 3:46 pm CLOSE Barbet finds the side-netting from a free-kick around 30 yards from goal after Murray Wallace was shown yellow for fouling Dickie. 07/08/2021 3:44 pm Rangers almost get a vital touch in front of goal after Johansen's free-kick is headed down by Austin but Shaun Hutchinson makes a great challenge to clear. 07/08/2021 3:39 pm Odubajo clips a ball towards the far post but Willock can't direct his header towards goal. 07/08/2021 3:37 pm Austin finds space outside the box and forces Bialkowski to tip away his strike for a corner. Much better from QPR. 07/08/2021 3:32 pm GOAL: QPR 1 Millwall 1 (Dickie) What a goal from the centre-back! Dickie strides into the Millwall half, lets fly from around 30 yards out and sees his effort beat Bialkowski and find the bottom corner. 07/08/2021 3:32 pm Barbet goes chasing the ball and is caught miles out of position as a long ball forward finds George Saville, who can only direct his shot straight into the hands of Dieng. 07/08/2021 3:30 pm Benik Afobe spins and fires straight at Dieng from inside the box. 07/08/2021 3:26 pm Jordy De Wijs and Jed Wallace getting a talking to from the referee after a bit of pushing and shoving between them off the ball. 07/08/2021 3:22 pm Johansen is just starting to get a foot on the ball and dictate play after a really poor start to the game for QPR. Still no real chances for the home side though. 07/08/2021 3:16 pm That goal has been coming for the away side, who have made an excellent start to the game. QPR have not looked comfortable at all. 07/08/2021 3:12 pm GOAL: QPR 0 Millwall 1 (Wallace) Some goal by Jed Wallace. The ball is cleared to the midfielder who takes a touch and finds the top right corner with a wonderful strike from outside the box. 07/08/2021 3:09 pm Rangers having to do plenty of defending in these early stages and haven't really found their rhythm.

Dickie’s stunning goal earns QPR a point against Millwall
By David McIntyre 07/08/2021
QPR1Millwall1 11'J Wallace31'Dickie
Rob Dickie’s stunning equaliser earned QPR a point in a gruelling start to their season.
Both teams scored brilliant goals in a frenetic first half which was dominated by Millwall until Dickie’s strike hauled Rangers level. ADVERTISING
Jed Wallace gave the Lions a deserved lead and they were well on top in the early stages.
In only the second minute, the visitors almost went ahead when Scott Malone’s left-wing cross caught out keeper Seny Dieng and hit the bar.
Dieng was given no chance by Wallace’s 11th-minute opener.
The Millwall talisman picked up a loose ball near the edge of the penalty area and rifled a shot into the top corner of the net.
With QPR having enjoyed an excellent second half of last season and since signed the likes of Charlie Austin and Stefan Johansen, who both made a huge impact on loan, there has been plenty of optimism among their fans this summer.
But Mark Warburton’s side struggled to settle and Millwall continued to trouble them after going ahead, with Benik Afobe and George Saville firing shots straight at Dieng.
Then, out of nothing, and totally against the run of play, centre-back Dickie netted a spectacular equaliser on 31 minutes.
Dickie beat Jed Wallace to the ball near the halfway line and strode forward before sending a 30-yard thunderbolt into the corner of the net.
More good work by Dickie before the interval – again after being first to the ball near the halfway line – saw him set up Austin, who shot straight at Bartosz Bialkowski.
Keeper Bialkowski was called into action again early in the second half, this time to tip away Chris Willock’s shot.
Maikel Kieftenbeld fired narrowly over at the other end, but both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances despite plenty of endeavour.
Millwall boss Gary Rowett changed tack for the final 15 minutes, sending target man Matt Smith on against the striker’s former club, but Rangers stood firm against the aerial pressure.
And they almost snatched an injury-time winner when Jordy de Wijs’ header was kept out by Bialkowski.

Another match report
Millwall's 32-year wait for a win at QPR continues after Jed Wallace's superb opener was cancelled out by Rob Dickie's equally-fine strike.
Wallace put the visitors ahead early on when he brought down a clearance and then fired into the top corner.
But QPR centre-back Dickie responded when he drilled in a shot from 25 yards out.
Both sides went close in the second half, with QPR's Chris Willock seeing a shot saved and Maikel Kieftenbeld shooting over for Millwall.
The Lions have now failed to win on their last 12 visits to QPR - their last victory on Rangers territory came in February 1989.
Wallace raised hopes of ending that run when he produced an inch-perfect finish.
But Dickie matched it, eating up the yards until he was closed down at which point he clipped a shot across Millwall keeper Bartosz Bialkowski and into the far corner.
Bialkowski denied both Charlie Austin and Willock from outside the box, either side of the break, as Rangers attempted to turn the screw.
At the other end, Kieftenbeld whistled a shot narrowly over and the introduction of former QPR forward Matt Smith could not break the deadlock in Millwall's favour.

Still don't know why Austin can only play 60 mins. Its not like we have a ton of strikers who can take over. Is he gassed, cant figure it.

Austin took a knock - but his departure looked pre-arranged. Willock moved forward before Charlie left the pitch. Likewise Johansen, he was brought down and just sat on the pitch, it looked totally pre-arranged. We lost momentum when the pair departed. We also missed Field and Chair. But we were very good in parts, deserved to go behind, battled back well. Draw was a fair result though.

Opening day of the season, no one wins the title or gets relegated on day one.
It’s a point, better than nothing. Heck of a goal from Dickie too!
Sheffield United found out tonight that opening the season in front of your own fans isn’t a home banker in the Championship.

Back to reality, outmuscled by a good Millwall side ,fair result, Austin and Dykes nullified but a 5 star performance from Dickie and his stunning goal. Mind you Millwalls was a cracker too. Johansen started to run the show after a slow start before going off. Willock really starting to shine now , hope it carries on. Can’t fault the atmosphere and let’s remember it’s the first time some of these young players have experienced our cauldron.
