1-1 in the East Mids derby. Best possible result, keeps both of them below us.

Interesting evening in the Championship
Derby & Coventry lost, Huddersfield & Birmingham drew. Forest losing with 10 minutes ago and, if it stays that way, we'll move up a place without playing.

Warburton is magic - went up a place without even playing I know there are a batch of matches tonight but looking at the table right now we seem to have a lot of games in hand on most other teams - all we have to do is win them. Barnsley have had 5 straight wins - can we bring that run to an end? Much depends on how our legs have recovered and who plays. Worst case if we lose is that we drop back to where we were before yesterdays magic.

Good results for us last night. Barnsley is a very tough game, we could quite easily lose this game and the Away game at Bristol City with Pearson now in charge, I don’t think we have a good record with Bristol C of late. I would take a point from both for sure. We must beat Wycombe at home next Tuesday, then we have Huddersfield and Millwall at home, would be good to win two from these three .

Rotherham currently 1 up , eight points behind us level games, could do with a Sheff Weds win or draw really.

Sheff Weds equalise with 10 minutes to go, this could be the best result of the night ?

Reasonable result at Huddersfield last night - keeps them 2 points below us but we have 3 games in hand. plus they are not looking good at all and are on an R's type run! A Coventry win or draw with Derby would be good optically if we lose today.
Rotherham are now facing a fixture problem with todays game at Brentford and Tuesdays game at Luton both postponed and the possibility of another couple of their matches going as well. We could even see our match with them postponed for the third time which will not help us climb the table.Their fixture pile up could put pressure on them especially if some teams (hopefully including us ) open up a bigger gap. On the other hand by the time they get to play games late in the season some teams will be safe and winding down the season with nothing to play for. I wonder what will happen if they cannot get all their games in before season end - automatic relegation or ord ered to play every day if necessary. The Brentford game is already rescheduled for then of April and no date at the moment for the Luton game.
Still we must control our own fate so 3 points at City today would be helpful - and not that surprising given the way this league goes.

A good Watford win in the early kick off might mean we move up a place before playing

Rotherham have a third game off now on Saturday . If they get far enough behind on points that they cannot avoid relegation even by winning their games in hand will they be forced to play them or forfeit the games. It would be totally unfair for them to be forced to forfeit the games and give the points to the opponents as that could change the whole shape of the table and even change which teams win promotion, reach the play-offs or are relegated; We could do them a favour of course and offer to take the 3 points from our game with them without playing to free up a day they can play someone else

Barnsley 0 Derby 0 Bournemouth v Barnsley at the weekend would have preferred a derby win to stop Barnsley getting further in front. Ni nil bournemouth v barnsley I am guessing would be best result for us

Ni nil bournemouth v barnsley I am guessing would be best result for us If we get 6 points off Huddersfield and Millwall will be funny where we sit, specially with the Rotherham game up our sleeves. Just pleased we are where we are. I guess I would lose 3 points Saturday if you said we beat Millwall 4-3 again 😊

Its one game I really want us to win each year.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost 6 in a row. Norwich have won 7 in a row. 22 place between them in the table.
Guess what - just after half time and it is still Wednesday 1 Norwich 0.

Sheff Weds have lost 7 in a row See Rotherham have 4 games in hand of Birmingham with 3 points the difference. Would you rather have the points or the four games ? Birminghams next four games 2nd to 5th, Reading, Watford, Brentford and Swansea ...... If I was a blues supporter I would be very concerned if my team had 10 games left and the next four was these. While Rotherham have 14 games left in including Wycombe at home. Once Birmingham have played those four games it’s Rotherham v Birmingham, think that’s what you call a six pointer.

Rather have the games in hand, then your fate is in your own hands. to have just the 3 points and being even in games played makes for a scary nervous wait for other results to go your way.

Bristol City drew 0-0 so we remain in the top half on goal difference.
Birmingham won 2-1 so are now 6 points clear of Rotherham but Rotherham have 4 games in hand although I can't see them winning all of them.
Sheff Wed drew 1-1 with Huddersfield and, even without their points deduction, they'd still be in the relegation zone. They're now 9 points off safety and I can't see them making that up so it's looking grim for both Sheffield clubs
If I had to put money on it,I'd say the 3 clubs currently in the relegation zone will remain there but the Championship is a crazy place so who knows.

I think Birmingham had to change Karanka with 10 games to go, they were playing dreadful under him. The switch got them three points straight away but there next three games Watford, Brentford and Swansea are still tough. still feel Rotherham v Birmingham will be a big game as Rotherham have Wycombe to play and some other bottom ones.

This is going against Rotherhams favour. Rotherham United have recorded 25 positive Covid-19 cases in the latest week of testing. No wonder they lost to Watford.

If we exclude goal difference (where we are now well placed) Wycombe need to win 8 of their last 9 to overtake us Wednesday have to win 7 of their last ten to overtake us Then there are 10 other teams lower than us who would all have to overtake us including Rotherham who are struggling to play all their games with first team players.
Looks like our 49 points is safe when not long ago I was thinking 54 were needed. That's the Champion ship for you.
