Not sure if it’s my imagination but everytime I listen to MW after our defeats he is starting to sound like a broken record. We must be the team playing the best football in this league but losing so often. He must know it’s not a 25 minute game it’s much longer than that and in fact someone should tell him football is a 90 minute game (often more ) . Also we are always unlucky, working so hard, great set of lads, great spirit, we didn’t take our chances etc etc.. Are we seeing the same MW interviews repeated or have I missed something. Sadly we are lacking quality in many areas, somebody please tell him before his next interview.

My two cents are that a lot of that is a combo of PR and an eye on what motivates and de-motivates the team. I think as a general rule, most of what managers say in press conferences is guff - it's mostly defensive fire fighting, the only manager I can think who deviated from that is Ollie. Question I always ask is, what's the purpose and what would we want them to say? I'd probably get a bit of a kick out of seeing Warburton or any manager putting a rocket under the players who have let them down, on an emotional level. But does it help? Bottom line is that we just see the PR-managed package of managers fulfilling their media obligations, it doesn't really mean much. I doubt it bares much, if any, resemblance to what's being said in the dressing room.

I follow Formula One and Lewis Hamilton is straight out of the PR handbook. He thanks his supporters, his team, his family, he congratulates other drivers......every race, every speech. Does it mean anything, not really. Is it interesting, not really. Compare and contrast some of the other drivers who could not manage to congratulate Lewis on breaking the biggest record in the sport. More entertaining to watch though.

That's because off camera I am told, Hamilton is a self centered twat, hence the other drivers don't like him.

With one or two notable exceptions, I think ALL managers sound the same.
Frankly, if you bleeped out team and player names, any manager's post-match interview could apply to just about any team.
And really, what is there to say, except the bleedin' obvious?

All they need to say without the cliche's is that "it was a great result, So&so had a really good game", or "I am angry that the team didn't perform to my expectations." Interview over.
