Adomah & Dykes start. 2 strikers! Niko on the bench though.

Lee Wallace again 🙄 I would have dropped after that last showing, better not give another Pen today. Let’s have a better performance Rangers please.

Few changes from PNE match are welcome. Actually I expected even few more.
Now this line-up seems really attacking one, with only one defensive minded midfielder. I will be interesting to see, how Warbs will field them. Will Dykes and Bonne both play as strikers with traditional 4-4-2 formation or maybe 4-3-3
Bonne - Dykes - BOS Chair - Cameron - Adomah Wallace - Barbet - Dickie - Kakay
A "bit" attacking minded version of what for example Klopp plays with his squad...
Anyway, I am pretty sure that today we are going to see some goals most propably Nico Hämäläinen at some point from the bench.

I think we had a 4-3 loss to Birmingham a year or two back when we were 4 Down, came back and we missed a Pen in injury time, was it Wells.

Positive that it's not both Cameron and Ball (though slightly surprised it's Cameron and not Ball for this one) - the two of them, against a team that is going to sit back and welcome us on would be too static I think.
Would have liked to have seen Hamalainen start. I guess the broader logic is you don't bomb Wallace out completely with a 'hard' drop and you don't put all the weight on Hamalainen's shoulders by having him parachuted in with the expectation of completely sorting it out. Ease him in.
Not sure on shape yet. I guess Bonne can play anywhere across the AM 3 or up top. But with BOS/Adomah suited to being out wide, it could be Dykes and Bonne as a front two...but would be quite the deviation from Warbs-ball.

Still haven't quite figured out the shape. It's effectively a back four, Cameron and then the proverbial kitchen sink.

Wallace should never play again, no shots on target, woeful at the moment.

Chair not involved, need Willock on for him a HT. Dykes and Bonne non-existence but not getting much service. I feel like Chair and Dykes have been busy, Bonne though I've barely noticed. Had a header in the box early on, can't think of him being on the ball since.

HT 0-0 ok if it ends this way, but would prefer we had a goal.

Chair is frustating, definitely ability there but plays safe too much, needs to provide more to the team when in final third, take more risk. Why is Kelman not on the bench? I know he has gone into U23s but I would like to see him get some minutes at least from the bench?

BBC report - Brum much the better side, MW 'agitated', Dykes has had nothing to feed off, only QPR player of note was Uncle Albert.
Let's hope for a better second half.

Not surprisingly, Brum are strong defensively. We opted for two up top against their back 3. Bonne has not got into the game and should get the hook. We are out numbered in midfield and they have spare men to drop back and cut out our supply. We do not have a midfield general to unlock them, so we need a tactical change. Give Willock a go, push Chair in behind Dykes. Cameron is not having a good game, Ball or Bettache at some point please.

Somehow BOS' shot headed off the line by Dean after a short corner routine.
Next corner, Dykes hits the bar after a downward header.

Dykes for Willock (presume pre-planned cos of his injury?), Adomah off for Ball.

Regardless of the performances, just can't get excited with this season when you can't watch live. Just stay up, and hopefully things will be brighter next season!

Both sides had a good 10 mins each of dominating the other that half. Particularly last 20, we found it very hard to unlock the massed ranks of Brum's 10 men behind the ball - occasions we did, final ball just wasn't there. Excluding Dykes hitting the bar and BOS' shot off the line, Chair probably had the best chance but skewed his shot horribly wide (minor deflection off the pass but a bad finish - you could see that from how he collapsed at the final whistle). Some scary pinball moments in our box. Fundamentally just not quite the guile to break down a very rigid and well-disciplined Brum side.
