If I'm reading this right, the European Super League, if there are 18 clubs involves, would play 34 regular games followed by knockout games at the end of the season. Champions League currently involves playing 13 games if you get to the final. If this proposed super league ends up replacing the Champions League, the English clubs won't be playing in the Premier League as well so that would be a big F*** you to domestic football and yet another case of the big cash-rich club snuffling even more cash into their troughs!

Do English fans want this ? Our leagues are the most competitive in the world . I can see why the Italians Germans and Spanish want it . I can even see why Owners want it but do fans?

Firstly, it is stated that this is FIFA backed & so it would almost certainly receive the support od UEFA & the individual national associations.
What I don't know is whether the clubs would be playing in the European League as well as their national league, or whether it would be instead of. My guess is that the clubs would expect to be competeing in both competitions & would increase their playing/managerial staff to cope with fulfilling the fixtures.
My next question is whether the Euro League would be a closed shop or if promotion/relegation will take place. Also, what happens to the Euro Champions league (or whatever it is called)?
My answer to sryleconcillor is that I suspect that fans of the clubs included will be greatly in favour, as will armchair fans. Provided, that is, that they will be able to access television coverage. Fans of other Premier clubs will be against as The Premier would take second place behind the new league. I would also think that the television revenue weould decrease for the Premier League when the next contract is up for renewal.
I really have no idea what Championship fans will feel. Will they say YES, bogger off, or will they feel that The Premier League & being promoted to it is being devalued? I don't even know what my views are other than I've expected it to happen since the mid 60's!

For years they have been touting a European Super League with about 20 "big" clubs taking part. Let them have it. F*** them. It'll be all about money and if some suckers are prepared to pay for it good on them. More fun and passion amongst the lower leagues anyway.

That set up is in Spain is a frigging joke.
