I looked at the transfer window as one of the best we’ve had without any knowledge of who’s coming in but with confidence in Warburton who comes across very well.
Hugill has come in and smashed it but all I read is the sitter he missed on goal line but later scored a peach 🍑.
Barbet from Brentford supporters said was a good footballer if he kept concentration for 90 mins ( if he had wouldn’t have been released) but him or Lynch?
Ball Wallace Kane Kelly (trust in Warburton) in for very little or nothing and money from outgoings.
Are we weaker for departures? .. I think not but my one gripe is Leistner, why rid but for money as he’s the old fashioned centre back that sorts the preferred centre back pairing of Hall / Barbet’s failures and maybe the 3 defensive unit at Wednesday is the way forward.
Chair Eze( come on way more than expected) Bright.. Wells returning , Pugh a coup and Cameron an upgrade even at 104 ... there’s a team there and I really think playoffs aren’t a silly goal .. 3-5-2 really works, let’s see where it gets us but v happy hoops fan and just enjoying the ride.
# loans are impressive also #
I hate being optimistic as hopes dashed every(most) years but you got to love them

I have said throughout that the last window was just incredible - almost impossible - but full marks for what was achieved. Although Freeman was our best player last season, I do not think we miss him that much because he tended to monopolize proceedings and was guilty of far too many step overs - although he was good to watch. Think that Luongo is a loss and the Sheffield fans want him in the team it seems. Most of the other departures were overpaid and the fall off after Christmas probably down to the lack of competition for places and players only interested in self preservation. But 10 points at this stage is very pleasing. Warburton is very pleasing - I hope that when we hit the buffers that today's support remains with him. But, the Championship this season is probably even more barmier than usual Only Fulham have got off to a decent start of the relegated teams with Huddersfield in danger of dropping straight through. Stoke are awful and their manager must be vulnerable now. Derby also struggling. Warnock's final farewell tour yet to get going etc. Swansea did not impress me very much and yet they won at Leeds yesterday Leeds should win the league - just like every season. So our own form does need to be seen in context. It is hard to think that Charlton will stay at the top with walking pace penalties etc. but good form counts for much. As for our own form, yesterday we were penalized with a soft penalty from a renown cheat. We scored a good winner that most weeks would have been judged off-side. We lost to Bristol City and Swansea and could have won both. We are making costly individual errors and paying the price most of the time. Barbet needs to settle and keep concentration be cause he is a good footballer. So as usual. my point is that these are all very fine margins and could easily have gone the other way. But, we look like a real team when we are buzzing. We have some fine talent, and that talent no longer feels the need to pass to Freeman. We may be one defender away from being a decent side - and if so that is incredible progress. But for me, the most important thing is that I really feel that watching the team is more enjoyable this season than probably the last 10. I suspect that January will be a nervous window for us with poachers lurking. I hope that if we have to sell that now we can ask mega bucks. Provided we sit in and enjoy the ride and do not get too carried away, then supporting QPR can be a joy and we can feel relieved that we have a decent coach and a backroom management who are really sorting thing out. That is my sunny, but early days perspective!

If we can shore up our defence, stop conceding silly penalties and not gift wrap goals to the opposition and, just as importantly, if our main players can stay healthy this team can be special.
There are good young players here who are only just learning to play with each other. Give them a few months and they can really be good.
There honestly isn't a team in this division that they need to be afraid of.
Swansea look the best of the bunch right now yet the truth is we played them off the park. However, our naivety showed and they were clinical with their chances while we weren't.
Same at Bristol City too.
As disappointing as those losses were it told me that this team has so much potential that, if they eliminate the silly mistakes and learn to be a bit more ruthless they can cause problems for any team in this division.
Those are things they will learn and get better at as the season progresses.

My expectations pre season were far higher than most, so I've no chance of getting carried away with our start!
I seriously doubt that any side, other than Swansea, are as good a footballing team. However, that won't stop us losing points we shouldn't as we are still a bit susceptical at the back & we need to increase our ratio of goals scored against chances created.
What I am certain of, is that the entertainment & the standard of football we play, will be far higher than most seasons. I think we may be a good away team this season, as I can envisage us carving through teams that come at us.
At present, I look forward to watching us play rather than with dread!
