Just watched brief highlights on the Sky website. No real complaints about the penalty but the Huddersfield player did start his descent before there was any contact. What a ball into the box from Manning for Hall's goal though!

Just on the way home - 4 points from opening 2 games is definitely decent.
Was a good game- bit frustrating around the middle but elated by the equalizer and felt we certainly deserved it.
First half had some decent flashes but we certainly looked like we were still feeling eachother out a bit with the change in tact and system. Some nice build up and (mostly) looked confident spraying it about from the back but lacked genuine threat at the end of it.
Not that Huddersfield were particularly forcing themselves on the game either. They picked up a booking for an obvious dive very early on and (with the caveat of my bias and no replay), felt Bacuna was lucky to still be on the pitch for doing Manning over by R block with a late, high challenge. That appeared to be revenge for Cameron trying to chop him down a couple minutes before.
Post-penalty, while not at Preston levels, Huddersfield took to suddenly not understanding where dead balls or throw-ins needed to be taken and knocks became life threatening head injuries with prolonged delays. Alex Pritchard took up the Ben Pearson role of arguing the toss and 'helping' ref the game until our equalizer.
Thought Eze and BOS both looked class. Oddly, considering how great he's been so far, Amos looked a bit off the boil. Kane came on towards the end and even though it was only a short run out, looked exciting and positive. Chair continues to brim with confidence and energy. Lumley dealt with the few saves he needed to make, though it did worry me a little that at least once, he got strong hands to the ball but didn't get the ball out of harm's way.
But yeah, really nice to be back. Good value for the point.
Also, felt immensely proud of the club's support of the KPF today.

I enjoyed today. I thought the first half hour we played very well but then went off the boil a bit.
Unlike bow though, I thought it was refreshing how little time wasting Huddersfield were guilty of! It was certainly less than I saw in most games last season. They definitely sat back after their goal & until the subs I couldn't see where a goal for us would come from. Kane & Chair gave us a lift & I think they may be close to starting next saturday. The players look happy with how they are asked to perform & are not sparing with their effort.
Two teams that mainly played the ball on the ground. Please can we have that every week!
I'm not going on Tuesday & I'm expecting eleven changes from the starting line up. I also think there should be eleven changes! Part of me wishes I would be there to see Kelly, Masterson, Ball, Chair, Shodipo etc. Hopefully, they will; make Warburton's taem selection for the visit to Ashton gate difficult!
Roll on the 21st when i will next see Rangers!

To be fair Terry I'm not sure if the time wasting gets worse or just my tolerance gets lower each season haha.

Terry made a couple of pertinent comments to me during the match yesterday. The first being that every player clearly understood their role. The team maintained their shape well, the full backs were pushed high up in possession, Cameron didn't leave the central defenders unguarded and Hugill dragged defenders around to stop them settling into their positions. The second comment was that everyone wanted the ball which is such a change from last season when they couldn't wait to get rid of it. We moved the ball quickly when it warranted it and always seemed to have someone to pass to. I lost track of the number of cross field diagonals to our full backs - Kane, in particular, looked like he was going to thrive on those passes and made a couple of really inviting crosses from our right flank. The slick passing moves did turn over possession too often for Warburton's comfort, but we are only two matches into the season, that will happen less frequently as the players skills get honed. Huddersfield were quick to pounce on those turn overs which proved to be their most threatening means of attack.
I expect wholesale changes for Tuesday night and, if Smith is fit and plays the full 90 minutes, would expect him to play next Saturday alongside Cameron. This would them allow Amos, who I thought had a quiet match, to play further up field where, I think, he is better suited. Eze and BOS had their usual mix of hot and cold, but Chair really brought our attack to life. He was busy, inventive and a real handful for their defence. He conjured a shot out of nowhere forcing a decent save out of their keeper and threw the whole of their defence off guard by stepping over a pass to allow Kane to break free. He is fabulous to watch, I'm really looking forward to seeing how he develops this season.

Would open by echoing the comments about the Stadium renaming, A great and inspired move by the club and at a time when, sadly knife crime is all too prevalent so important to highlight the amazing work the KPF and Mark Prince have done since 2006.
On the field I wonder whether Rangel will end up as cover at RB as Kane looked high quality for the short time he was on the pitch. I also feel Wallace may be our first choice LB when he is fit. It was been a much better start to the season after the awful start last year. I think at times we allowed the tempo to drop and whilst we looked neat and tidy in possession the slow movement of the ball wasn’t troubling Huddersfield. Once we scored we looked electric but could have done with getting the goal 10 minutes earlier as I think we would have gone on to win.
I think the style of play will bring more success and be far more pleasing on the eye, so hopefully much to look forward to this season.

what a performance by Ryan Manning looks like a ready made replacement for Freeman and what a cross for the equaliser that said all the team played well I don't know how the Huddersfield player was still on the pitch after his assault on Manning definite red card imo late and reckless any well done to the team 😀

I have just watched some highlights and the impression I got is that Scowen was a bit of a weak link - gave the ball away far too much and not so creative to be playing that far forward. On the other hand Amos seemed wasted in the more defensive role. For anyone who went to the game would you agree about Scowen and assuming Smith is fit would it improve things to play Smith alongside Cameron and move Amos forward to be more attacking - he can score a few as well.? That's how I would go 75. Mind you, I'm quite happy for the three to be Chair, Eze & BOS! I think the selling point for Scowen is that he can drop back if required.

For anyone who went to the game would you agree about Scowen and assuming Smith is fit would it improve things to play Smith alongside Cameron and move Amos forward to be more attacking - he can score a few as well.? Agree Scowen had an off one, though in this system I think there's more scope for Amos to grow into a more exciting role alongside Cameron which is less defensive than it looks. With his engine and growing in composure with a bit of time, I feel like Amos is seen as a forward facing link between defence and attack, seeing as the system is all about playing out from the back. Receive, turn, accelerate, pass positively. Scowen is good at a lot of things, but his frailty has been in collecting balls from the CBs and recycling it forward - getting caught in possession or picking the wrong ball. Whereas Amos is decent at that. That frees Cameron up to be more combative and while he's got a pass on him, he's more adept at shielding the CBs, which in turn frees up Amos to carry and contribute further up the pitch. Cameron won't have the legs to play every game which gives Scowen opportunities - he wants to play higher up and may get his chance though it's a crowded part of the pitch. So the way I see it...Amos can grow into more of a linking role that compliments Cameron, Scowen can compete with Cameron or cover Amos, and Smith can compete for either of those two roles in front of the CBs. It's quite a versatile set of bodies in there!
