Yes, no luck in the last 8 league games. Unlucky in all those home defeats.
Hope Freeman isn’t out for long.

More injury time woe, six straight league defeats, Freeman injury. All very depressing.

Sooooo disappointing. WBA started out looking like world beaters and scored with their first attack with a goal that had too many similarities to the Watford goal. Then they became pretty ordinary. Smith up against 3 giant defenders was getting us no where, but the substitutions were surprising and I said at the time risky to make with so much time left on the clock. But we started the second half well and we were in the ascendancy - then there was Lynch. Clive always calls it a brain fart, but this was pretty awful. He had plenty of options but chose to play it to the opposition and watch on as we went behind again. He had a very poor game. Where was Hall? Then the ref gave a penalty - apparently for a foul on Hamed but as no one saw it in our stand I will take his word for it. The Luke went off injured and blind panic took over. We survived several scrapes and then the cruelest blow of all. Some naive stuff when down to 10 men inviting them on with no out ball, but a real shame. Lumley made some good saves but was guilty of 2 bad errors that he managed to retrieve. But he is young and still learning - but we need to encourage him not shout abuse at him. Sad night. Keep the faith

Oh well, I’m looking on now until the Brentford game. Can kind of see 8 - 9 straight league losses for us at the minute, which must be some record.
The only good news is that with 12 games to go, the worse we can be is 9 points off the drop before we play Brentford as Reading play Rotherham Saturday and they both can’t win, then Leeds is our game in hand.
Hopefully if we are not too demoralised by Brentford we can start picking up points off teams under and around us in March. Let’s face it we only need about 2 wins and a draw to be safe as 46 points or less should be enough this year.
We had some nice run of luck when we had that good run to get up to eighth, little things went for us, it’s no good saying we don’t have luck now. It evens itself out through the season, the defence have not been good enough end of. We need Rangel and Cameron back

Had I been the WBA manager I would be the one that would be fuming. They could and should have killed us in the first 30 minutes. Not only were we a yard slower, we didn't seem to have any idea going forward. Misplaced passes and a midfield out of sorts and not able to string together 3 passes.
I am not a Smith lover but we become so one dimensional and let's be honest given his size he doesn't win that much. If he does, then Wells doesn't seem to anticipate anyway. It's football from the dark ages.
Defensively inept at 1-0 down WBA should have destroyed us I was anticipating the Birmingham half time score. We got the goal back when West Brom switched off. They all came over for drinks when there was a injury and never got their shape. Nice goal from Luke however he had one of his poorer games but it was sad to see him off injured.
The less said about their second the better but you will have seen better defending at any Sunday league game. Truly awful.
Second half we matched West Brom and whilst we really didn't look particularly much more like scoring than we did when Smith was on, naturally we put over some good crosses that were all wasted.
The penalty should, have been the opportunity to shut up shop but alas with the injury to Freeman we were always struggling. Where the ref got 5 mins injury time for I'm not sure, there was 1 minute in the first half......but you play to the whistle and we didn't.
It seemed a bit like after the Lord Mayors show from Friday. The ground was quiet and sparse, the players didn't seem really up for it and yet we could have got a point that would given the position of WBA been a good result.
As it is we lose another game and whilst it is not time to worry about relegation just yet, we are being dragged closer into the sticky stuff.

Mac's after match comments are getting as tired and jaded as his team's performance. Seems he really has no answer to the silly mistakes we continually make. Luck is apparently to blame and frankly that's no excuse, we got a penalty that never was. Certainly don't need the "Mac out "brigade to start up and I just hope he can turn us around and at least keep us from a relegation battle.

It does feel like bad luck but I do feel that not hitting the target enough and sloppy defending is actually more to blame. We got a bit of luck with one mis-placed WBA pass, when we were mis-placing passes for fun and we got a bit more luck with what looked like a very soft pen. When QPR retreat in to every man behind the ball it rarely ends well. Still gutting to keep giving up points so late in the game, Freeman injury was the game changer.

As it is we lose another game and whilst it is not time to worry about relegation just yet, we are being dragged closer into the sticky stuff. Overall we deserved a point though. Likely would have got it too until we went down to 10 men due to an unfortunate Freeman injury after all our subs had been made. At that point we naively put everyone behind the ball instead of leaving Hemed up top for an out ball. Absolutely invited pressure and played right into Albion's hands. As soon as I saw 5 mins injury time go up I kind of figured what was coming next based on the way we were set up. Still a massive dick punch nonetheless.
