Just got back to Gloucestershire after last nights game. I was sitting above the directors box and found myself right next to Chris Ramsay and Sibley. In front of them were at least two computers. Both screens had the game on obviously. I don't think Sibley looked at the pitch once..he just permanently switched from app to app which included player tracking, pitch density areas, Watfords preferred out passes and attack preferences plus a whole load more. Every other minute he would point things out to Ramsey who appeared to be the arbiter of what was deemed important enough to be transmitted down to the dugout. Whilst I understand computer analysis has an important role to play can it really identify live match patterns or danger areas any quicker than a half decent manager or any player with more than one brain cell.. It just seems all a bit over the top and more than a touch 'job justification ' in my eyes. And it was bloody funny when the bloke in the seat in front of me returned from half time a few minutes late and clearly fully refreshed and had no idea that as he sat down he somehow pulled all the leads out of one of the computers with his foot. Sibley most unamused to say the least!
