I've seen on the offie that we are holding a posthumous induction on Saturday for George Powell, Bobby Keetch & Dave Sexton.
Bobby Keetch will always be remembered by me as one of the really hard men of '60's football. I never saw him "do" an opponent off the ball, but I saw a few of them laying on the pitch in agony with the ball far away!
He was also one of the partners behind Football Football which opened in the Haymarket in the '90's. That establishment did not survive long after Bobby's death.

Dave Sexton achieved so much and probably did not get the recognition he deserved. Nice touch by the club.

Remember George Powell who teamed with Arthur Jefferson as fullbacks. Ivor Powell of much greater fame was on that team also.

I saw Bobby Keetch playing for QPR; but to be honest I don't have a personal memory of him as an individual player - unlike The Morgan's and Marsh.

What the Offie says. RIP www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/forever-rs-posthumous-inductions-against-preston/Forever R's posthumous inductions against PrestonPaul Morrissey @pjmorrissey77 THREE former QPR favourites who are sadly no longer with us will be inducted into The Forever R's Club this weekend. George Powell, Bobby Keetch and Dave Sexton will all be represented by family and friends as they are posthumously inducted into our ex-players' association when Preston North End visit Loftus Road on Saturday. To mark the special occasion, there will be a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off as we commemorate the lives of the three former R's. George PowellBorn in South West London on 11th November 1924, Powell was a right-back who joined QPR from Fulham in December 1946. He went on to make 155 appearances for the R’s before moving on to join Snowdown CW FC in June 1955. He passed away in 1989. Bobby KeetchKeetch was born on 25th October 1941 in East London and joined QPR from Fulham in November 1966. A defender, he made 56 appearances for Rangers before moving to South Afrrica where he signed for Durban City FC in May 1969. He sadly died at the age of 54 on 29th June 1996 after suffering a stroke. Dave SextonBorn on 6th April 1930 in Islington, North London, Sexton’s playing career was as an inside forward for Luton Town, West Ham United, Leyton Orient, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace between 1951 and 1959. Sexton went on to manage Leyton Orient and Chelsea before being appointed at Queens Park Rangers in October 1974. The R’s ended up 11th in the top flight that season. We then finished runners-up by a point to Liverpool in 1975/76 with Sexton favouring an attractive brand of ‘total’ passing football. QPR subsequently reached the Quarter-Finals of the UEFA Cup and the League Cup Semi-Final the following year. Sexton left Loftus Road to become manager of Manchester United in the summer of 1977. He later managed Coventry City and the England Under-21 team. He died at the age of 82 on 25th November 2012.
