Ingram has to come off not looking confident at all, and their goal was gifted by him.

We were the better team overall. So, what happens next, now? Is there another Cup game after this or something?

Well, another enjoyable game at W12. Lots of positives to take home. Oteh - took his first team chance well. Have seen him play quite a bit for the U23s, so the only question was could he step up? And he did. Very good game and he is bulking up well with good upper body strength. BOS - again took his chance. Another impressive run out. Hall - so good to see him play and have such a good game. Lasted the 90 minutes! Furlong - switched to centre half and played well. Scowen & Cousens - another good outing in the middle. Scowens had the better game but Jordan hit a very good shot and the keeper made an excellent save. Freeman - Captain for the day and was tireless Kakay - Leeds doubled up on Kakay and put him under a lot of pressure but he coped well - Scowen helped cover. Bidwell - Man of the Match for me - won the penalty, scored the goal and the only regular in the back 4 positions. Took a bad knock though but played on. Ingram - you have to feel sorry for him. The ball hit both posts on 37 seconds and then Leeds scored with their first real opportunity after that. It was his error to not hold the ball but no Rangers player moved for the spill and number 52 (Halme) tapped home unmarked - subsequent set plays, Furlong picked up Halme until he departed at half time. Think Ingram needs to get his confidence back at another club. He did well out on loan to Wycombe apparently. The crowd did get on his back, and that was a shame. He pulled off some decent saves later on. McClaren - full marks today. The right starting 11 with a mix of established and youngsters. Rested the right players. Kept Scowen and Cousens playing together to build the relationship. Good to see Hall and Furlong as the 2 centre backs. Slowed the game down with 3 late substitutions. Allowed the departing youngsters their applause from the supporters. And oh yes, got us in to the 4th round and avoided a replay! Good day at the office!

Thanks Ricky. Just wished I could have been there. Somehow, to me, McClaren may be the first manager we have had in a long time who had a real care about us winning an FA Cup game.

Just watched the highlights, Oteh showed a lot of confidence taking the penalty, blasted it straight down the middle. Freeman was unlucky with his free kick hitting the post but what a shocker Ingram had for their goal although have to give him credit for making some good saves in the 2nd half. Don't think Lumley will be worrying about his place anytime soon though.
What with winning at Forest and getting through to the 4th round of the FA Cup at the 1st attempt for the 1st time in over 2 decades, McClaren is fast achieving legend status!

Just back and it was a pleasing result.
Whilst Leeds could have scored in the first 30 seconds when they hit both posts, we had the much better chances and their keeper was probably MOTM.
Ingram was our only real question mark in the first half, he spilled their goal and was incredibly lucky that he didn't gift them a goal when he dithered too long on the ball. However second half he redeemed himself but if there was an obvious weakness it was probably him.
But it was a positive performance and wow, for the first time I'm looking forward to the live draw tomorrow.
Brilliant!

Just a few other thoughts: The game was played at a very fast pace. The Leeds youngsters looked very fit and were up for the tie. But we also looked very quick on the break. It struck me that the squad is so much fitter now. Ok, it was a very inexperienced opposition, but we are very good at hitting teams on the break with pace - and that is great to watch. That has to be a factor as to why our away performances have improved so much. It was also pleasing to see that the squad players slotted into the same set up. I said after about an hour of play that even if we went on to lose the tie, we had given it a real go and the players had all responded well. Shame that the total attendance was only 11k with Leeds filling their end (3k) and making a lot of noise. Pleased that all 4 sides of the ground were open because at least there was some noise from the home support. With the ground half closed, it is very sterile with the home support out sung by the most meager of oppositions. I am sure that has contributed to our poor home cup record. But we don't just have a decent team, we now have a squad with good cover. My only concerns would be striker and keeper cover. But Oteh could save QPR a great deal of cash. If he keeps developing, he could be a real asset. Ingram should really be more than adequate cover for Lumley, but as I said above, he may need to rebuild out on loan ( provided we can recall him if need be.). Great though that so many of our U23s played today and played so well. Long may it continue!

For 75 and others that may not know. Robert Green is with Chelsea, where he sits on the bench. Something to do with having to have a certain % of British players. So he sat on the bench with us in the prem, when we signed the Brazilian ntf.
