I thought he wanted to leave. Don't think so, was very defiant after the Leeds game in terms of carrying on, developing for the coming season and so on.

Ollie was treated marginally better this time round than when he was stabbed in the back by Paladini, but it's not been the club's finest moment.
Don't know where the rumours of Ollie wanting to leave came from, but they were clearly a crock of sh*t.
He did a decent job of stabilising the ship (or leaking old tub perhaps...) and deserved another year.
But we are where we are and I'm happy enough with Schteve and looking forward to the new season with guarded optimism.

I think someone put two and two together and made five, probably on the terrible basis that he just lost his Mother . It was obvious though after the Leeds game, that wasn’t the case.

Yeah, I don't think it was really founded in anything other than guesswork. Murmurs about McClaren being lined up, people made the jump that Ollie has previous for vacating jobs if he doesn't feel up to it, added that to the loss of his mother and to some extent losing his friend Ray Wilkins. But clearly wasn't the case. I'm not utterly opposed to McClaren coming in, guarded optimism like Ashdown says - I'll support anyone in our dugout who isn't an awful person and wants us to do well and is trying. Even so, Ollie is bitterly disappointed and he has a right to be imo. He can at least leave acknowledging that we are, as he says, in a better place than when he came in.

Ollie is one of the few people who would truly warrant being inducted as a ForeverR. A true QPR legend.

I read somewhere that Ollie wanted to have a break because of his late mothers passing and that he realised how fragile we all can be and wanted to enjoy some life with his wife and kids. Hence him wanting to leave.

Hence him wanting to leave. Yeah, there were a lot of theories thrown around. My take is that he'd achieved the initial objectives he'd been set but was not deemed to be the man to take us forwards from that point.

I have no knowledge but I alawys felt that the "Holloway wants time off because of his mother" was put out by "Friends of The Club" to undermine him and soften the ground.
Just like the McClaren was coming which first appeared weeks agol
