What the Offie said about Rangel re-signing. I wonder why it took so long?! www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/rangers-re-sign-angel-rangel/Rangers re-sign Angel RangelMatt Webb @mattwebb987 QPR have re-signed experienced full-back Angel Rangel on a one-year contract. The 36-year-old first joined the Super Hoops last August, subsequently making 20 appearances and scoring two goals for us. Former Swansea City defender Angel will now spend another season with the R’s after putting pen to paper on a new deal this afternoon (Friday). All things considered, the decision to come back here was a very easy one. ANGEL RANGEL“It feels great to be back – I’m very happy,” he told www.qpr.co.uk. “I had such a fantastic time here last season. “QPR tick all of the boxes for me. There’s such a great group of lads in the dressing room, the environment is very positive and I wanted to have the connection that I had with the supporters again. “The new manager has come in with a new philosophy on football – a style that I was used to for many years at Swansea as we went from League One to the Premier League. I’ve always enjoyed playing that way and, all things considered, the decision to come back here was a very easy one.” R’s boss Mark Warburton added: “Angel’s experience will prove invaluable. “You want the balance to be right – you want youthful exuberance, that hunger and desire. But you need senior players who can apply their experience and knowledge as well. You want them to speak to and advise players, to get into them when they have to. “Players like Angel understand when to do that, what to do and why to do it. I’m delighted to have him back on board because I think he’ll be a real benefit to us.” Warburton continued: “He is someone who has played football in a certain type of way for a number of years at Swansea. “Angel is an attack-minded full-back who is also disciplined. He is a top professional who is in great condition. “You could tell from the reaction when he came back in that he’s well liked in the dressing room. “It’s great to see him back here. He had choices, like all good players do, but he’s thrilled to come back to QPR.”

From London News Online www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/qpr-want-loan-deal-for-josh-cullen-as-charlton-face-battle-for-west-ham-midfielder/QPR want loan deal for Josh Cullen – as Charlton face battle for West Ham midfielder5th July 2019 BY RICHARD CAWLEY QPR are rivalling Charlton Athletic for the loan signing of Josh Cullen. The 23-year-old West Ham midfielder was a roaring success for the Addicks last season. And Charlton boss Lee Bowyer would love to bring Cullen back to SE7 for the 2019-20 Championship season. But the South London Press has been told that QPR are the frontrunners for the Essex-raised player, whose form for the Addicks saw him called up to the full Republic of Ireland squad.

And the latest news from the Offie on scholarships' I wonder how many (if any) will make it to the first team? www.qpr.co.uk/news/under-18s-news/qpr-confirm-latest-intake-of-scholars/QPR confirm latest intake of scholarsGeorge Jones @qpr EIGHT youngsters have this week signed scholarship forms with the Queens Park Rangers academy. The scholarships – which last for an initial two seasons – enable the young players to combine classroom education with extra contact time on the football pitch. The following players, who were all U16s last season, have all signed: - Alexander Aoraha - Oluwabunmi Babajide - Raheem Evangelista-Conte - Chimaechi Eze - Lemar Griffiths - Ryan Hayes - Arkell Jude-Boyd - Mason McLean Meanwhile, the following players have all extended their scholarships into a third year: - Nathan Carlyle - Tyla Dickinson - Aaron Drewe - Jake Frailing - Joe Gubbins - Charley Kendall - Nathaniel Orafu - Shiloh Remy - Kayden Williams-Lowe - Kai Woollard-Innocent Academy Director Alex Carroll said: “It’s always an exciting time in the calendar for us to welcome our new scholars into the academy environment on a full-time basis. The boys and their families should all be extremely proud of getting to this point. However, through the induction process it has been clearly outlined that the hard work, both on and off-the-pitch, starts now. “There has never been a better time to be a young player at this club and the boys have some fantastic role models in the first team that illustrate what can be achieved if they apply themselves professionally in all aspects of their scholarship.”

From TWTD www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/36235/lambert-i-dont-know-anything-about-qpr-interest-in-judgeLambert: I Don't Know Anything About QPR Interest in JudgeSaturday, 6th Jul 2019 17:49 Town boss Paul Lambert says he knows nothing about QPR’s reported interest in midfielder Alan Judge and insists he wasn’t disappointed that winger Danny Mayor opted to join his former Bury boss Ryan Lowe at Plymouth rather than signing for the Blues. “I don’t know anything about it,” Lambert said when asked about reports that QPR are eyeing Judge as a potential replacement for Luke Freeman, who joined Sheffield United for a fee of £4.9 million. “I don’t listen to anything and don’t read anything so I don’t know anything about it. “I don’t get involved in it unless someone phones us and gets in touch. There’s been nothing.” Lambert says Judge, who signed a new two-year deal with the Blues in April, is a player he doesn’t want to lose: “Not at all, we’re trying to build something here and build a good team and we have some fabulous footballers in the team, that’s for sure. Alan Judge is one of them.”

But London Football News understands Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is now looking elsewhere. West London Sport reported last month that Rangers were looking to sell Luongo and were in talks over a deal for Luke Freeman to join Sheffield United, who have since signed him. And Luongo was left out of the squad for Rangers’ pre-season trip to Austria ahead of his expected move. There appears to be no way back for Luongo at QPR, whose manager Mark Warburton confirmed that he had been omitted from the squad for the trip because his future lies elsewhere. Warburton told Rangers’ website: “Massimo has been a loyal servant of the club for the last four years and his passion and commitment for QPR has always been there for everyone to see out on the pitch. “Massimo’s future could now lie away from QPR and therefore it is important that we prepare for that potential eventuality. “We will give opportunities in Austria to some of the club’s younger players who have come through the academy, such as Charlie Owens and Charlie Rowan.”

Thats a shame if true, always better to have 2 or more teams bidding on a player as it makes our hand stronger, if there is only 1 team in the running and its known that we need the money its much harder to get the valuation you want.
I have assumed the Mas has already said he won't signed a reduced wage contract with us then?

I have assumed the Mas has already said he won't signed a reduced wage contract with us then? Why would he sign a reduced wages deal? I know what you are saying, would any of us sign a reduced wage deal? Almost certainly not ,but there are some players out there that look at the grass being greener this side of the fence. I wont use the "they earn far too much already" statement as we would all take high wages if it was offered, but it could be that he likes the new coaching set up and thinks he can learn and develop from it. As Les said he needs to get goals to his game. He may want to be loyal to the club on the basis that when a decent offer comes in he goes. This is all a moot point anyway, being left out of the squad pretty much means he is out of the door anyway.

Not sure what this says about Jack Robinson at left back or the possibility of Luongo going to Forest. But as it is Forest, they will probably just continue to pile them high and keep signing players. DOUBLE DEAL AT FOREST (Left back & Defensive Midfielder from Benfica) Nottingham Forest have completed the double signing of Alfa Semedo and Yuri Ribeiro from Benfica, the Sky Bet Championship club have announced. The Portuguese duo have joined on a season-long loan and a permanent deal respectively and have become the club’s third and fourth signings of the summer window. @nffc ✍️ Forest complete double signing#NFFC are delighted to announce the signings of Alfa Semedo and Yuri Ribeiro from @slbenfica. 986 4:16 PM - Jul 8, 2019 www.slbenfica.pt/en-us/agora/noticias/2019/07/08/futebol-benfica-yuri-ribeiro-alfa-semedo-transferencia-para-nottingham-forest

Nothing coming in about a Luongo move. Having not played any minutes at the World Cup and few minutes in the Asia Cup I really think his transfer value has diminished considerably. We may have to let him go for very little or just keep him until his contract runs out

If he is going on the cheap might as well keep him until next summer.

If he is going on the cheap might as well keep him until next summer. That would depend on whether we've already allocated his wages elsewhere. However, should he stay for the season and then leave on a free transfer next summer the club will get slaughtered in certain circles for allowing that to happen.

From Dave Mac at WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-looking-to-complete-signing-of-geoff-cameron-on-permanent-dealQPR looking to complete signing of Cameron on permanent dealBy David McIntyre 10/07/2019 QPR are hoping to finalise the signing of Geoff Cameron – on a permanent deal. Cameron told West London Sport in March that he wanted to return to Loftus Road after his season-long loan from Stoke City ended. He has a year remaining on his contract and is not in Potters boss Nathan Jones’ plans. Another loan move is a possibility, but Cameron is looking to agree a financial settlement to leave Stoke and sign for QPR as a free agent. The American, who turns 34 on Thursday, missed more than three months of last term with ankle ligament damage. But he impressed before and after that injury and Rangers have long been hoping to have him back on board for the coming season. Cameron, who made 19 appearances for the R’s, is currently training with Stoke’s development squad and is one of eight players Jones has told will not play for the club under him. The others are Bojan, Moritz Bauer, Mame Biram Diouf, Giannelli Imbula, Julien Ngoy, Erik Pieters and Kevin Wimmer.

Dave Mac's WLS update on what's going on in regards to our transfer/loan workings www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-update-cameron-luongo-striker-search-money-to-spend-and-osayi-samuels-contractQPR update: Cameron, Luongo, striker search, money to spend and Osayi-Samuel’s contractWest London Sport’s David McIntyre with answers to some of the most common questions asked by QPR fans on social media.Any update on talks between QPR and Stoke over Geoff Cameron? There aren’t talks involving QPR as such. The relevant talks are between Stoke and Cameron, who has a year remaining on his contract and is not in manager Nathan Jones’ plans. Cameron knows what QPR will offer him. It would be significantly less than he is on at Stoke, so he is effectively looking for Stoke to offset the drop in wages by agreeing a financial settlement, enabling him to leave them and join QPR as a free agent. Cameron likes life in London and made it clear in March that he wanted to return to Rangers when his season-long loan ended. QPR have since been optimistic that he will be back on board for the new season as a permanent signing, having cut his ties with Stoke. Another loan move is possible but would leave Rangers with a decision to make as it would use up a loan when the club are very keen to maximise their use of the loan market in terms of bringing in younger players. It was hoped that Cameron would this week fly to Austria to join QPR’s pre-season trip, but as of Thursday morning his future had still not been resolved. Wouldn’t Cameron have to take a massive pay cut?No, because a move hinges on him reaching a financial settlement with Stoke which accounts for the drop in wages. Are QPR going to sign a striker?Yes. There are several irons in the fire but Rangers’ top targets are wanted by other clubs too. Is Massimo Luongo leaving?Probably. Having decided to sell Luongo, who is in the final year of his contract and would have to take a pay cut to sign a new deal, he was recently left out of the trip to Austria. The level of initial interest among clubs definitely points to something developing in the next couple of weeks. Do Rangers have money to spend? This might come as a surprise, but actually yes they do, albeit a very modest amount. The recent sale of Luke Freeman means the club are now potentially in a position to buy a player or two. Given QPR’s financial position, the importance of investing this small amount of money wisely really can’t be overstated. This is a hugely important crossroads for the club, which absolutely must now walk the walk in terms of a return to the days of picking up bargains and selling for a profit. They have to get this one right. What about a new deal for Bright Osayi-Samuel? His contract is up next year. The club have an option to extend that deal by another year, so he is effectively under contract until 2021.

Thanks for that Sharky.
I'm not in the pro signing Cameron camp. However, if he wants to come to Rangers & is willing to accept wages that fit in with our budget/pay scale then it would be hard to argue against signing him.
Maybe he would be a replacement for Leistner? Centre half is his best position after all & Toni might attract a fee!
I hope we have a new striker in time for him to fit in with the other players before the visit to Stoke!

Crouchy’s media profile is higher than ever right now.
It’s probably best for him to capitalize on it.
Although if I was Warburton I might call him just to point out our proximity to the BBC. He could train in the morning and present a daytime show with Gloria Hunniford in the afternoons 😆

QPR want to take Jordan Hugill on loan from West Ham but face competition from several other clubs. Hugill, 27, was lined up for a £1.1m move to Loftus Road from Preston in 2018 but interest from other clubs sparked an unexpected bidding war which led to him eventually moving to east London in a deal worth around £8m. He has been unable to make an impact at West Ham and has not started a match for the club. After again being pursued by QPR, Hugill spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, making 37 Championship appearances – 17 of them as a substitute – and scoring six goals. He is available for another move, either on loan or on a permanent basis. Wigan want to buy him and Bristol City are also keen, while a number of other Championship clubs are monitoring the situation. A permanent deal currently looks out of QPR’s reach and they have made an enquiry about a possible loan. Hugill scored 23 league goals in 103 appearances for Preston, who signed him from Port Vale in 2014. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-among-clubs-keen-on-west-ham-striker

A crappy website quoting another crappy website Charlton and QPR in talks with Spanish defender – Free agent, future should be sorted next week By Tom Coast - 18th July 2019 Failing to make an appearance for Getafe last season, Alberto Redondo never quite managed to make it to the La Liga side’s first team, and after the lack of faith showed in him, the 22-year-old didn’t renew his deal and is now a free agent. However, according to Foot Mercato in France, the left-back won’t take long to find himself a new club, as both Charlton Athletic and Queens Park Rangers in the Championship are interested in his services. Getafe tried, in vain, to keep him around, and it seems the defender is now set on trying something new, with both the Addicks and Mark Warburton’s side starting discussions with the player. The website claim his future should be sorted by the end of next week, suggesting things are going rather well. Saint-Etienne and Lens in France both knocked on his door, but Foot Mercato believe it’s in England that his career will continue, and it will be a choice between Charlton and QPR. sportwitness.co.uk/charlton-qpr-talks-spanish-defender-free-agent-future-sorted-next-week/

Is it every window we get linked with Hugill at West Ham. Ainsworth trying to get Smith on loan. This will be a shame if he goes out on loan again, under Holloway I thought he was a very good player and his pace caused a lot of issues. Bearing in mind our lack of anything up front they must be confident that we are getting others in?
