Pleased the Club see sense about Freeman, 6 Million minimum I reckon, hopefully 8. Shame about Smith going to Millwall, always liked him, great pro. The Freeman news should at least stop some of our fans preparing to jump off the nearest motorway bridge or marching pitchfork in hand up to HQ.

QPR have rejected an offer from Sheffield United for Luke Freeman. The promoted Blades were looking to buy Freeman, 27, for around £4m and have been told he would cost significantly more. United and Middlesbrough had offers for Freeman rejected last summer and he has since extended his contract at Loftus Road. Recently-appointed QPR boss Mark Warburton is keen for him to stay and does not regard Freeman’s departure as inevitable. Meanwhile, Warburton is hoping to secure the loan signings of at least two youngsters on loan from Premier League clubs in the next week or so. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-reject-offer-from-sheffield-united-for-freeman#.XRCcHhi1wq4.twitterThe good news flowing from that report is that it seems that Freeman does not have a £4m release clause. Good news indeed! And yet Sky posted the following at 14.30 today........... FREEMAN CLOSE TO BLADES Sheffield United are closing in on their first signing of the summer, Sky Sports News understands, with QPR’s Luke Freeman set to join the club in a deal worth more than £3m. The former Arsenal academy player enjoyed an impressive season at Loftus Road last term, landing the supporters’ Player of the Year award - and is keen to play in the Premier League.

QPR are ready to sell Massimo Luongo. Rangers are in discussions with Sheffield United over the potential sale of Luke Freeman, having rejected an offer from the promoted club. Whereas Freeman signed a contract extension last November, giving the club more scope for negotiation over his transfer fee this summer, Luongo, 26, is about to enter the final year of his contract. Rangers believe there is little prospect of him signing a new deal given that he would have to accept a pay cut. They will therefore listen to offers for the Australia midfielder, who has made 145 league appearances since being signed from Swindon Town in 2015. Mark Warburton rates him highly and was interested in signing him while Nottingham Forest manager. But the financial realities facing Rangers mean they are not in a position to match Luongo’s current wages. And with a number of clubs indicating they are interested in signing him, there is now every expectation that he will be on the move. Rangers also expect to offload Matt Smith despite turning down an initial offer from Millwall, who remain keen on the striker, while Hull City want out-of-favour keeper Matt Ingram. Meanwhile, R’s boss Warburton is aiming to seal the signing of at least two Premier League youngsters on loan. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-ready-to-sell-luongo-as-sheffield-united-pursue-freeman#.XREMPbLYo08.twitter

I can understand the logic of selling Luongo if we know he won't resign at a lower salary (and why should he) but it'll be hard one to swallow if we lose both of them. Perhaps makes the links to Jason Holt more understandable

Move is tailor made for Freeman really, shame as it is - just the right kind of opportunity to play in the Prem and see if he can make it there.
Luongo going would be a real shame too. I think like others have said, understandable but still gutting.

Perhaps makes the links to Jason Holt more understandable Clubs lose good players all the time. Sometimes they replace them with other players with different skill sets. And sometimes the replacements end up making the team better, strange as that might seem. It will be sad to see Luke and Mas go, but we have to be realistic about things now. If we ever get back to the Premier League then we can get good players and hopefully keep them. For now, though, got to comply with FFP and that means selling your best players.

We can be optimistic about the future too. I like the players we have brought in so far. We got luongo on the cheap so there must be others out there.

Good move for all involved. He’s a good keeper, hopefully that will become apparent at Hull now. Just a shame it never worked out here.

It seems to me we are morphing into Glasgow rangers, and losing our creme at the same time. Why do i have a sense of dread about this season ?

Just perhaps we are trying to prove that if either of the old firm were in an English league they would only be of championship standards? Something I have suspected since the SPL was formed.

Hearts are in advanced talks over the signing of striker Conor Washington.
Washington was released on a free by Sheffield United at the end of last season.

It seems to me we are morphing into Glasgow rangers, and losing our creme at the same time. Why do i have a sense of dread about this season ? It’s pretty normal for a manager to go back and find personnel he knows are the right sort. It reduces the risk of signing a dud. Our creme are not really pivotal either. It’s how the funds we earn from their departure are used that matters, both on the pitch and off it. I try not to feel dread before a ball has been kicked. I usually feel optimistic before a season no matter what but that’s just me.

I agree Andy I think the top two would struggle to break into Championship top 10.

Just like Harry then? Niko Kranjcar Is still hoping Harry gets another chance in football. Haha, i hope Warburton signing the right sort from his past is one of only 2 similarities with Redknapp the other being getting us promoted and giving me one of the best days ever. I am one of a small minority of QPR fans that don’t hate Redknapp but I think that topic might have been done to death already. I cannot carry it on any more, not with my knees. 😁

I think the two Rangers players we have bought so far look solid buys, I wouldn’t want there whole team though....

Promising Spurs youngster to join Championship club on loan – report
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luke Amos is set to join QPR on a season-long loan, according to a report.
Amos was heavily involved in the first-team’s pre-season campaign last summer and was rewarded with a new contract.
However, the 22-year-old midfielder suffered a serious knee injury in October and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the season.
As a result, Amos may find it difficult to break back into the Spurs team in the upcoming pre-season matches.
And according to Lilywhite Rose, Tottenham have decided to send Amos to QPR on loan in order to give him some experience in the Championship.
Lilywhite Rose @lilywhite_Rose Exclusive: We can reveal that Luke Amos will head to #QPR on a season long loan deal. This will be Luke’s first full season at that level and will enable him to get some much needed minutes after missing the last 11 months with injury. Good luck Luke. ✅
Lilywhite Rose are a social media account rather than an established outlet, but they are followed by the likes of reliable Spurs journalist Dan Kilpatrick, which suggests they are credible.
Amos’ first-team opportunities at Tottenham will be reduced even further if the club completes a record deal for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as expected.
At 22, Amos may not have many more opportunities to make it at Spurs but getting game time at QPR will certainly help his chances.

I think this is just the type of player we should be getting in, fringe of Prem team, not too young and I suspect because of Warburton (he took 2 Spurs players to GR)/Ferdinand/Ramsey connection we know him well
