Cautiously optimistic today. Our home form is not bad, we punished another team below us in the table the other week and Forest are on an awful run of two wins in 14 games, no win in their last 5. Saying that, it's stats like that which worry me with our tendency to be charitable! They've only scored 3 times in their last 10 games which makes me think they'll get one, even though I think we'll win today.
Manning's ban has now finished and Hall, Sylla and Robinson are being assessed. Not sure if any of them will get on today.
Three points please! UUUUUUUURRRRRRS.

Smyth & Smith up front, Robinson starts. Think this could be our strongest team.

What the BBC said
An impressive win on the road for Nottingham Forest, who had only scored once in the league before today since winning 2-0 at Wolves in mid-January.

Ollie and Bircham really got their tactics spot on today. Giving fans a glimmer of hope before ripping their beating hearts out. Top tactical stuff you two muppets.

Opportunity to go 12 points clear of relegation today but pissed it away!
Not looking forward to Villa next week.

Seeing us concede five in the freezing cold was absolutely crap. Weird one as I've seen us play worse and concede far fewer but some proper disappointing individual performances today.
Scowen was the worst offender for me today. Normally so solid, completely off the boil today - loose passes, hospital balls and reckless challenges that would have been dangerous had they been anywhere near the player.
Don't think the tactics were the issue today. I think the issue was that the players we rely on almost all completely underperformed. Complete off day and really sad to see. I'd have maybe made the changes earlier and i'd debatably put Bright on. I feel like we saw the absolute worst case scenario to how we approach games when we concede. In the previous two games, we left it far too late to impose ourselves on the opposition - playing with a bit more attacking freedom but too little too late. Today we tried the same and every gap we left got ruthlessly exploited. Thems the risk, but it doesn't help when so many players had an off day.
Of the few positives, Smyth still looks good - his ability to pick up balls played behind and control it, run at players and look up is such a rarity in our side.
As usual, I'll throw some refereeing gripes in. I thought Colback dived incredibly obviously for the free kick that lead to their goal. I thought the ref let Forest take the absolute piss with time wasting. Pantillimon was far the worst offender and got a yellow far, far later than he deserved. There's just no incentive not to time waste, pathetic.
But as I say, broadly just crap today. Very disappointing. Particularly as I bought my Fulham and Villa away tickets before leaving the house today...
