The truth is that there are very few if ant managers who can be described as consistently good. Warnock and Ollie have both taken teams up divisions and even into the Premiership where they (or their players) have been found wanting. The example above of Warnock with us is the same. Mourinho at Chelsea - what happened to him in the space of 12 months. Moyes was supposedly at the top of English managers when he was Everton - what happened since? The list is endless. Even Ferguson had a couple of minor blips and Wenger has done what many think is a brilliant job keeping Arsenal in the top 5 or 6 for so long but he is still criticised. It's all part of the modern game where some fans and some owners with their heads stuck in social media accept nothing short of winning their league, where no manager can expect to last more than 3 seasons, and can count themselves lucky if they do. Is that a good thing? - not in my opinion. Is it good that players earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a week can decide which club they will play for, or not play for while under contract and get away with it? not in my opinion. So the Ollie in/out debate will continue for as long as he stays with the club and then the same debate will switch to whoever takes over - probably before he even joins. Football is a mad, make believe world these days so maybe its appropriate that Disney are taking over Sky. Soon we may be watching the Goofy PL, the Mickey Mouse Championship, or we will become the Amazon Park Rangers watching games at home, streamed live from a drone. Anyway there is a GAME tomorrow so hopefully everyone will forget the manager change debate for a few hours and get behind the team for an important match. No doubt if we let a goal in it will be less than a minute before we see the tedious weekly "we are crap" posts from the usual sources. Time will tell. How does small Sam keep getting gigs? Especially after his England fiasco.

Can you think of a manager who would really want to come to QPR, considering the mess that they are right now. Ian Holloway Lots of talk about Gerry Francis coming in for a role at the club. He left West Brom on 'moral' grounds, presumably to do with the sacking of the manager he's worked with for many years, Tony Pulis. Tony Pulis is in the job market. In 25 years of management, a team managed by Tony Pulis has never been relegated. If we lose today, will Ollie be looking over his shoulder?

I think Tony Pulis could do quite a bit better for himself than joining QPR... Gerry Francis as coach maybe; as Manager - NO WAY - He was burned out 15 year ago. (Some managers such as Warnock go on and on - and thrive on it. Others, such as Francis grow old and age in the job (Maybe that's Holloway)

(Some managers such as Warnock go on and on - and thrive on it. Others, such as Francis grow old and age in the job (Maybe that's Holloway) I was just playing devil's advocate really. Don't think the club would want Francis as a standalone manager - doubt Francis would want it either. But a Pulis/Francis team might tempt them - Pulis for survival and promotion potential in the next next season or two, and Francis for his club legend status. That said, they'd probably be too expensive - and I suspect Swansea might make a move for them sooner rather than later. But I can't help thinking Ollie would work better with a decent assistant manager - I'd love to see Steve McClaren back in that role. We could probably afford his salary if we could offload Caulker. PS - What's happened to your avatar Mac? If you've lost it, here's a backup...

If supporters thought the football was too boring under JFH, it was electric compared to what Pullis serves up!

From WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/say-im-still-another-couple-weeks-holloway-wants-time-qpr-winHolloway wants more time after QPR finally win awayBy West London Sport 16/12/2017 Ian Holloway spoke of his desire to stay on as QPR manager for as long as possible after his side finally won away. Rangers’ 2-1 triumph at Birmingham was their first victory on the road since winning at the same ground in February. It also came after five defeats in six matches – a run which led to speculation that there could be yet another change of manager at Loftus Road. Holloway appeared to admit after the game at St Andrews that he could still be on borrowed time. “I want to get us to January and get us in a better position so we can feel a bit of optimism around us,” he said. “I’m delighted with some of the young ones we’ve got coming through. They’ve got to get character and that’s what we showed today. “I know we’ve got it, but sometimes it can desert you a little bit – particularly with the run we’ve had over the last few years, where people get changed. “You could say that I’m still here for another couple of weeks. I’d like to be here a long, long time. But I know I have to earn that right. “I’m just very pleased for my team today. We’ve had some things go against us and in life you have to overcome.” Jack Robinson scored twice for Rangers – the first goals of his senior career. Holloway paid tribute to the rejuvenated defender, who has bounced back from injury to become a vital player this season. Holloway joked: “I’ve just said to the doping officer: ‘Surely you’ve got to take him!’” He added: “I’m delighted for him. He’s been sensational this season. He’s come from not being able to train two or three days in a row and has been absolutely outstanding. “He’s got a brilliant left foot and I think he’s got a bright future, because he’s still only young.”

They wouldn't be anyone we would want IMO and theres no money for more players, so lets leave it where it is. If we go down we go down. We will be circling the drain whoever manages. Pretty much what I think. Ramsey, JFH and Ollie all objectively made sense for different reasons at the time of their appointment for a club of our size. Good technical background who brings youth through, up and coming lower league manager ex pro and someone who knows the league who loves the club respectively. None have torn up trees and all have been hamstrung by QPR's broader set of circumstances. Does that make Ollie the ideal? Not really. Can I think of other people available who could fit QPR? For sure. Do I think they'd do much better given the circumstances and recent evidence? Nah. But at least we've got a likeable hard working bunch. And we won today so that's top innit.

Think Ramsey was insane - If you look back; was a sign we basically had abandoned hope of staying up.
When we went down and THEN gave Ramsey a contract/managing...Pretty crazy
When we then Sacked Ramsey, Pretty Nutty...
When we ended up not keeping Warnock...Pretty Nutty
When we appointed JFH on the basis of his one year taking over an already-good club (and probably influenced by his international career), Very big risk
Then we axed him..and Holloway not much better
So why if we Axe Holloway should we expect anything better in terms of appointment - even as our attractiveness as a club grows ever smaller....From Warnock to Hughes and Redknapp - we were a midlevel club at best...Now far smaller

Mark Hughes will probably be available soon. - - I’ll get my coat! In response, I'll give you from almost 4 1/2 Years ago BBC - QPR's Tony Fernandes cannot rule out Mark Hughes return
By Richard Conway
BBC Sport
3 May 2013 From the section Football
QPR: Tony Fernandes refuses to rule out Mark Hughes returnQueens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes says he cannot rule out Mark Hughes one day returning to the club. Fernandes sacked Hughes in November and still believes the Welshman had passed his "sell by date". But he admitted he had wanted the ex-Blackburn boss in charge long term. Asked if Hughes could ever return, Fernandes said: "Life is a strange thing. Never say never. But at the moment you'd have to say it's a very, very long shot." He added: "I don't think right now the fans would appreciate that. But I'm not someone who is ever going to close the door to anybody or anything. "I like Mark and somewhere along the line something went wrong. "If Harry Redknapp wasn't the man available then I think Mark may still be here. Maybe all the fans would dislike me intensely but he had a great record at Blackburn and Fulham." QPR had four points from 12 games and were winless when the 49-year-old former Blackburn, Manchester City and Fulham boss was sacked and replaced by Redknapp. Hughes' reign as QPR boss came to an end only 10 months into his two-and-a-half year contract. Redknapp failed to revive their fortunes though and QPR's relegation from the Premier League was confirmed last weekend at Reading. But Fernandes still believes he made the right choice in sacking Hughes when he did. "I think the sell-by date had come and it was obvious," Fernandes said. "Straight after he left we beat Fulham and there was a bit of an uplift. "There are many people who fault me for not letting him go earlier. My mistake. "I always want stability. I wanted Neil Warnock to be here for a long time. I thought Mark would be here for a long time. "I sent him a card for his wedding anniversary, which I think was 25 years. And I said, 'I hope we'll have a 25-year relationship'. Reading and QPR down after draw "It's important in a club. Stability is important in any organisation. And it's been a heartbreak for me that we've had three managers in two years. "I hope Harry can stay with us as long as he wants to and in that period he can groom someone else that will carry on the Harry Redknapp tradition." Fernandes warned, however, that it might take QPR before they return to the Premier League. When asked whether QPR were prepared to play the "long game", the Malaysian added: "We may have to - there are a couple of things that we're looking at. Do we invest in lots and lots of young players like Aston Villa? "We have to go for the long term - we may not come up straight away. "But we'll get the infrastructure of the players right. We've got everything else right in terms of the brand, in terms of the exposure, the plans for the training ground, the stadium. We've just got to get that player infrastructure right." You can watch Richard Conway's full interview with Tony Fernandes on Football Focus at 12:15 BST this Saturday (UK only) www.bbc.com/sport/football/22391747

It wasn't a case of us not keeping him, he openly said he didn't want a full time role in football at that point in time because of his wife's illness.

Clement to QPR as an assistant, or Ollie demoted to assistant? Don't think we'd have the wedge to have him as a manager, he'd probably want a role somewhere bigger now he's got Prem experience. I really like Clement and how he carries himself. There's a nagging thing for me that makes me think his experience at places like Real Madrid doesn't prep him well for dealing with all the ins and outs of a smaller club with limited resources, but I dunno. Interested to see where he turns up next.

Apparently Giggs and Van Gaal have 'distanced' themselves from links to Swansea.
Regarding Pulis, the BBC says:
