I don’t think you can have Sylla and Smith in if you want to play this pressing style.
When I watch it feels like the problem is no cutting edge but if you look at the table we have as many or more goals than two teams in the top 6 but we’ve given up too many for it to matter.

I think we’ll either lose by the current score line (maybe 2-0 on a late goal when we’ve hit the bar a few times and had all the possession) and be told how great we are and how they never stop working and fighting or if we’re lucky Smith will nod one in and we’ll get a draw, same narrative presented afterwards.

Better than losing.
We are officially this division’s draw specialists.

Still think it's damned if you do or don't for what the club does or doesn't say after. Get slated for clichés if you talk about positives and hard work, Ollie will get blamed for passing the buck if he slates the players, damned for Ollie being there if we say we weren't good enough, accused of papering over the cracks if we say things could have gone our way on another day etc. Don't really know what people want the club to say, really.
For me...
Positives: fought back away from home in a game we'd have rolled over and died at last year. We're notoriously crap away from home and haven't lost the last two.
Negatives: even though we haven't got loads to work with this season, even we should be aiming higher than 2 points from Sunderland and Bolton away. Any club with a bit about them should be taking at least 4 points from those games as both sides are genuinely pap.

Also, looking at the table reminds me again how weird this league is. Just below Wednesday, Hull and Boro who I thought would be troubling the playoffs. Above Reading and Brentford who I thought would be doing far far better. Absolute slog of a division innit.

7 games with no win, 2 defeats and 5 draws...... I cant really get excited by that kind of form against those seven teams, 3 of them are the in bottom three(+ Burton favs for the drop) and we couldnt beat any of them. Now the tougher games start to come.. WDLWLW. DLDDLDD We dont have any given right to beat any team thats for sure but expected more points in those 7 fixtures. Luckily we had that good start.

Wolves, Leeds, Villa, Forest (away), Derby all in there plus Brentford against whom I assume we will put in our customary local derby performance.

Well Tony F must be happy tweeting away points are good, even against the bottom two with the worst defences one of our owners seems to happy with a point. We have tough games coming up like you say, so interesting to see what fans feel after we play that bunch of fixtures. Picking up points is great your not losing but when you draw five and lose two, it basically equates to winning one, drawing two and losing four and that against those teams is very very poor indeed to me. But I guess it depends on what your expectations are, maybe mine are still high.

There is hope for us surely. Sheffield United are being lauded yet they have lost as many games as us but of course the key is winning games. we need to start doing that soon!

Sheffield Utd a different class than us, for starters there last two away games took six points off Sunderland and Bolton something we couldnt do and they took further three off Barnsley. They will probably finish 15-20 points above us.
You need wins sadly.

Most of you are deluded.. We need to be winning.. are record under Holloway is really poor and I think he has had his time.. Get rid now! Please.... Let's get our team playing again with belief. Belief isn't the issue really though, is it? I don't think you can point to many situations this season where it looks like the players aren't grafting and giving their all. We've been lower midtable throughout the last three managerial changes - an internal backroom hire, a younger continental up and comer and now a club legend. You have never, ever suggested who's an available, better and affordable manager. And that's nothing to do with whether people rate Holloway or not - it's about looking at the situation and: 1) Concluding that we're significantly better than a lower midtable side but the manager is the fundamental problem. 2) If that's the problem and you want a managerial change, who do you realistically bring in who can make that group of players better in a short period of time? Personally, I don't agree with 1) and I don't have a realistic answer for 2). That's why I think changing manager now would be wrong. I'd respect your opinion a bit more if you didn't call people deluded and wanted to discuss what's wrong and what you'd like to see done rather than just calling for the manager's head. As it goes, you just come across like a wind up merchant.

I agree calling other fans deluded is a bit strong there. Every fan will have an idea of what they want this season Some will want IH out now, others if we are in the bottom three at Christmas and some will want to stick even if we go down a Division but none of us know what our owners will decide anyway. I did see Macs tweet today re points and looks like IH will have less than what Ramsey had when fired which is pretty astonishing unless he picks up 4 points in his next 2 games.
The perforamces have been a bit better agree but these runs we seem to go on is a big worry two big loss runs last year, now seven without a win against some very very average teams indeed.
Whilst I still love QPR deeply I do find myself getting less agitated with lesser results this season now, I am sort of accepting we could quite easily drop down a further tier.

I think we are where we are because: 1 - the type of player we've brought in under Ollie - mainly young and/or lower league 2 - a run of injuries to key players 3 - our strikers still not firing 100% I'm happy with the new transfer policy and the players Ollie's brought in and/or promoted from the youth team. The injuries are just bad luck. Strikers remain a concern, but Sylla has been given his chance and is doing OK, so grounds for optimism there maybe. Overall, I'm generally happy with performances and player commitment and attitude. Personally, I'm happy to stick with Ollie for the rest of the season at least. Regarding Mac's Tweet, well, he's always happiest having a little bit of a dig at the owners on Twitter...

Injuries happens to all teams generally though at some point throughout a season, you have to carry on playing at whatever the circumstances.
Some Managers have managed to get results with there second string playing a game, we had seven chances to get a win and some pretty average teams in that run of games and whatever you can say is we did fail seven times..
Anyhow lets see if we can get a win against some of the top teams as our games so far averages teams less than 12th place, more like 15th / 16th average.
So in our next 10 matches to halfway there is going to be more teams in the top 12 coming up.
Added: to play up to halfway, table position as of today. Not too many low positions in there now as they have been wasted. Oct 1st , 3rd Nov 12th, 5th, 9th , 18th Dec 8th , 4th, 21st , 7th

We are three points above the drop. We have three injured key defencemen. We need more talented players. I have no idea what our FFP debt is. Neither do I know the quality of our scouting, nor our academy. Which I do know the Chief of which just quit. We may very well be relegated, but I think somehow we will muddle through and stay 17th or 18th for a long time. Just like Barnsley was until this season where they have done better so far. Its not easy to see teams like brighton, Huddersfield and bournemouth go Prem How they have done it is beyond me. Watford seem safe up there. for me, just have to settle for what we have. An excellent goalkeeper who made a brilliant save to save us a point at Bolton. and a couple of talented strikers. Sylla and our N.I international.

Thing is though, a lot of this addresses criticising our results under Holloway, which is understandable, but with reference to Gold's post it doesn't make any argument in terms of why changing the manager makes any sense. To crib from LFW:
Winless runs annoy me as much as anyone but in reference to a new manager coming in, it doesn't make a huge difference with us judging by our recent history. As if we are just one more change away from rocketing up the league and everything being hunky dory.

Thats a good graph. Season total 53, I would take that now but wonder what that PPG will look like in a month?
