I was thinking we might struggle to make mid-table this season, but now that I've seen this article on the official about the "Hill of Hell" I reckon we're nailed on for a top two spot as fit as we'll be. They actually swam back from Portugal instead of flying. Lost Sean Goss somewhere off the coast of Guernsey I understand, but the guys who made it back can run for days. "The work they've done is more than any other squad I've had at this stage of pre-season." says everyone who ever managed a football team, in this case Ian Holloway. "Diabolical fit delighted right type, lads lads lads," the Rangers skipper continued. "Togetherness, embraced, fitness top notch." www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/the-hill-of-hell-gallery/

Nailed on for top two RangerJake? Your-avin-a-larf.
After that FANTASTIC and truly extraordinary pre-season work-out in Portugal, the Premier League have been trying to reach TF begging hime to allow QPR to play in the Prem from August; UEFA have notified us of automatic qualification in the Champions League; Hammersmith & Fulham Council have given us a 20 acre plot to build our new stadium and leisure complex - and the Football League have awarded us £60m and a profuse apology for all the fuss over FFP.
And Ollie has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in recognition of his eloquent and original press conferences.

I'm not expecting Automatic promotion - or making the playoffs. And I'm not too optimistic that Holloway will last the season

God I hope I'm wrong, but this season already has the distinct aroma of a November sacking followed by lots of talk of letting someone (player or manager) "bed in" and we need 12 more transfer windows to get the right mix.
It's exhausting, it really is.

Club probably shouldn't say anything about it or say the lads have just gone out there on the piss and aren't working hard. Hyperbole about massive hard pre-seasons annoy me as much as anything but they can't win, really, whatever they say.

What would we prefer they tell us?

But that's just massively reaching surely? Asides from the fact that fitness and stamina is massively important (moreso than ever) in modern football, let alone over a 46 game season, why does one element cancel out the other? It's July and players have just come back from a summer break, that part of pre-season has always been focused on getting players who've been on a break back up to speed. I play in goal - if I told you that I had focused on my kicking in training yesterday, does that mean that I now don't care about shot stopping and I won't be able to save a shot come the start of the season in August?
Also I'm not Ollie's biggest fan but he's so much more than running about and pride in the shirt. He gets pelters for a lot of things and rightly so but being one dimensional and operating purely on passion and more running is just objectively wrong. How many times have we heard that Warnock is simply an angry, heart on his sleeve, aggro football merchant? Marry that stereotype to the football we played when we got promoted and didn't get beat for 19 odd games in a row.
This is not much different to me than people saying we aren't bothered about the transfer market and look too weak when the window's been open for 7 days. Not signing more than one player in a week does not mean we aren't active in the transfer market. Playing rotated matches behind closed doors in early of pre-season does not mean we're not focused on tactics or team building.
The irony of this is that rotating players is precisely what we should be doing if you want to start putting together a solid first 11 for next season. How are we supposed to look at new players or youth prospects or seeing how players cope in different systems if you don't rotate? Rather he's doing all this now rather than in the middle of competitive fixtures i.e. how we ended last season with all the bloody tinkering.
There's a lot of stuff to take aim at Ollie and our team about but pushing the idea that the focus on fitness in early pre-season, like almost every other professional team beyond those playing pointless shirt-selling friendlies around far-flung corners of the globe, means we're not focusing on systems or tactics is just completely unfair.

Here are the odds from the 'normally get it right' book makers.
QPR to be Champions 50/1
QPR to be promoted 12/1.
They certainly DONT think so and think we'll finish 18th.
